Louisville Cardinals vs. Oregon Ducks Gambling Prediction & CBB Preview

Louisville vs Oregon March Madness Betting!

Two games in and the Cardinals have won by 31 and 26 points. If that pattern holds than they should beat Oregon by 21 and might not be challenged until the Championship game.

Louisville

That wouldn’t be such a shocker. The Cardinals have put up back to back sterling defensive efforts (average of 52ppg allowed) while also playing fantastic offense. It has been an impressive run and there are no signs of slowdown.

Guard Russ Smith again stole the show for Louisville. He put up 27 points to lead all scorers against Colorado State. What’s amazing is how easily the Cards won given that point guard Payton Siva shot miserably.

The defense forced the Rams into 19 turnovers which helped as did freshman forward Montrezl Harrell – who more than doubled his scoring average with 12 points.

He gives them another active body inside too.

At this point in the tournament if there is a large spread it is usually justified. Louisville has been just killing opponents and it is no surprise they are heavy favourites here. The same can’t be said for their opponent, who lacks experience at this level.

I think there is some value on the Cardinals at this number but I will probably pass.

Oregon

When you see that seeding it is hard to remember that Oregon actuallu won the PAC 12 tournament. [ad-6571516]

That is right, the automatic qualifier from one of the “power” conferences received only a #12 seed – even though they were among the ranked teams for the majority of the second half of this season.

Now they get Louisville who is at least a weight class or two above the program. This might be the biggest blowout of the Sweet Sixteen.

Oregon’s wins over Oklahoma State and Saint Louis to get to this point have been surprisingly easy. Guard Damyean Dotson has led the way by averaging 20ppg but backcourt mate Dominic Artis may be more important.

As point guard he will be under siege from Siva and Smith.

Against SLU he was held scoreless but turned the ball over just one time. They need his steadiness more than his scoring these days with the emergence of Johnathan Loyd.

The way the Cardinals have been tearing through foes you almost feel sorry for the Ducks. In the PAC 12 nobody plays defense like Louisville. The Trojans might be the closest and Oregon only beat them by 2 points.

10 is a lot of points at this stage but I think you still have to like Louisville in this one.

Spread Pick: Louisville -10
