NFL Point Spread – Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts

Sunday, December 6th – 1:00 PM ET
Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis
NFL Point Spread: Colts -6.5, O/U: 47

The Colts beat the Tennessee earlier in the year, but these are not the same Titans. These Titans have won five straight and employ a quarterback who’s playing out of his freaking mind. In the five games since taking over, Vince Young is undefeated, has thrown four touchdowns and just one pick.

Last week against Arizona, Young engineered a 99-yard touchdown drive in the dying seconds of the fourth quarter to win the game 20-17. It was his finest quarterbacking performance since the 2006 Rose Bowl.

But the Titans aren’t playing the Cardinals. They’re playing the Colts. The 11-0 Colts. The Colts who are one win away from tying New England’s record of 21 straight regular season wins and are trying to lock up home-field advantage in the playoffs. Yeah, those Colts are pretty good.

What The Titans Have To Do To Win

For the Titans to have a legit shot, Chris Johnson needs to be at the top of his running game. That shouldn’t be too hard for Johnson, who has been crazy-good as of late. Last week Johnson ran for 154 yards, his sixth straight 125+ rushing game. Only Eric Dickerson and Earl Campbell have done that before.

The Colts have allowed 108.9 ypg on the ground, good for 15th in the league. If Johnson can keep Indy’s defense on their toes, Young should be able to continue his hot play and the Titans will have an upset on their hands.

What The Colts Have To Do To Win

Well the Colts are 11-0, so they don’t have to look far to find a winning strategy. Just do what they’ve been doing all season. The Colts have looked vulnerable as of late, but are still the best team in the league and capitalizing on mistakes, especially at home. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Peyton Manning is still Peyton Manning, and as long as there is time on the clock Indianapolis has a shot to win it. Dwight Freeney could make his return to the lineup this Sunday, which would greatly improve the Colts’ chances against a vaunted Titans running game.

Outlook & Pick

The Titans may be the hottest team in the league right now, and they’ll need all the momentum they can against Indianapolis. Tennessee always gives a good fight against Indy, and there is nothing to suggest that it won’t happen again this weekend.

The Colts are the Colts, and they’re 11-0 for a reason. Still, with the way Indy has been playing as of late, contrasted to the way Tennessee is playing, there will be an undefeated streak ended this Sunday. The 1972 Dolphins will be happy to see it happen.

Pick: Titans +6.5 and under 47

Prop Betting: Team To Score First And Score In First 7.5 Minutes

Tennessee is going to give the ball to Chris Johnson early and often. Indianapolis will start the game running as well. It all depends on the coin toss. Whoever wins it will score first, but they’ll do so on a long, time-consuming drive.
