Vancouver Canucks vs. Colorado Avalanche NHL Gambling Prediction & Lines

Canucks vs Avs Hockey Betting?

The Vancouver Canucks continue to cling to their playoff hopes when they visit the suddenly stumbling Colorado Avalanche Thursday night. The Vancouver Canucks ride a three game win streak into Denver to face a Colorado team that was lucky to snap a three game winless skid with a come-from-behind shootout win against the Predators last time out.

Desperate Canucks Visit Vulnerable Avs Thursday Night

Thursday will be the second of three games between the clubs – Vancouver won the only meeting this year 3-1 at Rogers Arena.

The Canucks moved within four points of the Phoenix Coyotes for the second Western Conference wild card in the Stanley Cup Playoffs Wednesday night with an impressive 5-2 win over Minnesota. The puck is going in for the Canucks and they are finally getting some positive results. David Booth (three points in two games) scored two goals for the Canucks, who won their third in a row. Zack Kassian (five points in two games), Ryan Kesler and Daniel Sedin scored, and Eddie Lack made 29 saves for Vancouver.

Everything seems to be trending Vancouver`s way – Lack is 3-0-0 in his last three starts with a 1.33 GAA and .949 save percentage – that`s been the difference for this team. They are a far better team than they have been playing – maybe the Canucks are finally starting to prove it.

The Colorado Avalanche seem to be plodding along right now – not playing all that well in either end of the rink. They have given up 17 goals in their last four games – six to Montreal in a loss, 5 to Winnipeg in a loss, two to Boston in a loss and four to Nashville in a win. Seymon Varlamov is 2-1-0 in his last three starts with a 2.33 GAA and .930 save percentage – he will start – JS Guigere has been awful.

Colorado is still one of the more gifted offensive teams in the NHL – hands down. While giving up 17 goals this team scored 12 over their last four games – Gabriel Landeskog had two goals and an assist in Nashville – he has scored three goals in three games and Paul Stastny had two assists against the Predators, giving him three in as many games. Colorado will score Thursday – it`s just a matter of keeping the puck out of their own net.

A few trends to consider:
• VAN are 5-16 in their last 21 road games.
• VAN are 6-14 in their last 20 overall.
• Under is 47-23-4 in VAN last 74 vs. Central.
• Over is 7-0-1 in COL last 8 vs. Pacific.
• Under is 6-1-2 in the last 9 meetings.
• VAN are 22-5 in the last 27 meetings.

The Vancouver Canucks are playing playoff hockey right now and it seems to be working for the team. It appears as though they may have caught the Colorado Avalanche at precisely the right time to boot. The Canucks have played the Avs tough – 22-5 in the last 27 meetings – the +155 is too tempting for me!

Pick: Vancouver Canucks +155
