Post-Trade Leafs, Blues in Action Tonight

NASHVILLE PREDATORS -155 over St. Louis Blues

Following the loss of Lee Stempniak in a ballsy trade by the Blues, St. Louis is left with little to nothing on the offensive end. Andy McDonald, Paul Kariya, Eric Johnson, Dan Hinote and now Stempniak are absent from the ice when the pitiful Blues visit Nashville tonight.

St. Louis is 3-7 SU in their last 10 games and a lowly 1-5 SU in their last 6 games against Nashville. Those aren’t the most encouraging numbers, even if it is the unsteady Predators.

Nashville returns home after winning 3-of-4 road games in the past two weeks. With wins over Carolina, Anaheim and LA, the Predators are riding a fairly strong 4-2 SU streak in their past 6 games. The Blues, in utter turmoil right now, are unlikely to unseat the Preds at home where Nashville is a strong 10-3 SU when hosting opponents.

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS -124 over Atlanta Thrashers

The Thrashers have been abysmal all season, going 4-18 SU in their last 22 games on the road. When they visit the newly hopeful Leafs, it will be difficult for them to grind out a win without any key scoring threats. Atlanta is giving up 3.47 goals against per game, ranking them as the third worst defense in the entire NHL. If you’re looking for a bad sports betting pick I hockey, the Thrashers are your team!

Lee Stempniak hopes to regain his stellar form of two season ago by joining a revamped Leafs team that is making a sneaky run. Nobody expects them to do anything from a Stanley Cup standpoint, but adding Stempniak adds a bonafide scorer, and a name that people in the hockey world are familiar with. The Leafs are only 3-9 SU in their last 12 games at home, but are going to have little to no trouble with a Thrashers team they have dominated for the past few years.

CALGARY FLAMES -165 over LA Kings

The Kings are 2-5 SU in their last 7 road games, lacking any zest or panache that made them crafty underdog plays last season. As dogs, they’re only 5-8 SU this season. Calgary enters this fray as a strong favorite. Whenever the Flames are given the nod by the oddsmakers, they usually win. They’re 8-4 SU as favorites this season, and are 7-1 SU in their last 8 games against the Kings. Expect big rewards out of Jaromir Jagr and Kippy tonight when the Flames host the Kings.
