Ryan Miller and Ilya Bryzgalov were arguably hockey’s top two goalies for the first half of the season; now, they get a chance to prove themselves against each other. Then again, it’s tough to say if we’ll see Bryzgalov’s best effort tonight. He won his last two starts but that was only because he finally got some offensive support. The truth is that he’s cooled off – more than cooled off – with a 3.99 goals against average and .872 save percentage this month.
Miller, on the other hand, has managed to get better in 2010. 
His 1.78 goals against average and .950 save percentage for January are his best marks in any month this season. Miller has an amazing .936 save percentage on the year – a Dominik Hasek-like number. While The Coyotes’ recent offensive surge, led by Radim Vrbata, and their strong home record are threatening to the Sabres, Miller is 5-0-0 against the Western Conference this season. I don’t see why his dominance would disappear tonight. I like the Sabres.
