Offshore sportsbook odds are backing the Red Wings to win their fifth Stanley Cup in 12 years, but the Penguins aren’t going to go down without a fight.

Stanley Cup Betting – Friday, June 12, 8:00 PM ET

Jordan Staal and Tyler Kennedy scored the goals to give the Penguins a 2-1 win in Game 6, but the star of the show was Marc-Andre Fleury, who stopped 25 of the 26 shots he faced, including 13 of 14 in the third period. Fleury was spectacular in the final two minutes, stopping Dan Cleary on a breakaway with 1:41 left, and he kept the puck out with 13 seconds remaining when both teams piled into his crease. If anyone needed a big Game 6, it was Fleury, who was shelled for five goals on 21 shots in Game 5’s 5-0 mauling.

Kris Draper scored the lone Detroit goal with 8:01 left in the third period, which set off a late flurry against the Penguins. However, the Red Wings paid the price for a slow start, as they were outshot 12-3 in the first period, and they looked pretty lethargic for the first half of the contest. Chris Osgood made 29 saves for the Red Wings, who have to be confident in their chances because they played pretty badly in the first portion of the game, and they still only lost 2-1.

Stanley Cup betting odds are favoring the Red Wings at -190 to essentially book their place as one of the NHL dynasties. They will also have history on their side, as the home team has won 12 of the 14 Game 7s in the Stanley Cup finals, and the Red Wings have dominated the Penguins at Joe Louis Arena in this series, outscoring them 11-2 in the three games. The home team has won every game in this series, and that isn’t a trend that is just going to end in the most important game of the matchup. The Red Wings have too much experience going for them, and the Penguins will just have to wait their turn.

Stanley Cup betting pick: Red wings -190
