The Blackhawks broke out of a bit of a scoring slump in Game 4 and netted five against Frederik Andersen for their fourth OT win of the playoffs. Can Anaheim bounce back has they have all year long or will the Blackhawks be able of carry some momentum and take the series lead on the road Monday? Let’s take a look.

The Chicago Blackhawks played arguably their best game of the series on Saturday – if not for a 37-second span midway through the third period in which the Ducks scored three goals, Game 4 wouldn’t have been all that close.

Chicago enters Game 5 feeling that they may have finally figured out Frederik Andersen who had been very good in the series – terrific in the playoffs so far.

Five goals against was by far Chicago’s biggest output in the series so far – Brandon Saad snapped a six game pointless streak in Game 4 – he had a goal and an assist, Patrick Sharp registered his first point in five games with an assist in OT, Patrick Kane scored Saturday, Brent Seabrook broke out of a slump and Jonathan Toews had a goal and an assist.

All four lines for Chicago were effective offensively – a good sign for the Blackhawks going forward.

Another good sign for the Blackhawks in Game 4 was the play of Corey Crawford. He certainly hasn’t slowed his strong play as evidenced by a 47 save performance in Game 4. Crawford is now 5-2-0 in his last seven games with a 1.80 GAA and .943 save percentage.

He is just 2-2 with a 2.75 GAA against the Ducks however.

The Anaheim Ducks should not been intimidated by a series deficit in the least. They have been one of the more resilient teams in the NHL all season long and are talent latent- top to bottom. They outshot Chicago 51-40 in Game 4 and have yet to lose in regulation in the playoffs so far – pretty impressive.

Heading home where Anaheim has lost just once this postseason, the Ducks should feel OK about gaining the split in Chicago. They bounced back from a Game 2 OT thriller and took Game 3 – there is no panic in the Anaheim room.

Corey Perry registered another goal in Game 4 – nobody has had an answer for him yet in the playoffs. Ryan Kesler scored, Matt Beleskey scored and Emerson Etim also tallied in Game 4 – three lines contributed offensively – a positive sign for the Anaheim Ducks.

Frederik Andersen had a bit of an off- night Saturday with just a .875 save percentage – expect a bounce back on Monday. He is 2-2-0 in his last four starts but does own a very good 1.86 GAA and .936 save percentage over that span.

Andersen has gone a terrific 6-1 with a 1.25 GAA and .954 save percentage in seven home games this postseason.

NHL Gambling Trends

• Over is 4-1-3 in CHI last 8 road games.
• CHI are 7-2 in their last 9 vs. Pacific.
• CHI are 7-2 in their last 9 overall.
• ANA are 49-20 in their last 69 Mon. games.
• ANA are 39-16 in their last 55 vs. Central.
• ANA are 65-31 in their last 96 home games.
• Under is 19-6-2 in the last 27 meetings.
• Road team is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.

The core of the Chicago Blackhawks have over 100 games of experience between them in the playoffs – no situation is going to scare them. That experience will be handier the deeper we go into the playoffs for sure.

The road team is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings including 2-2 in this series and Chicago has won three of its last four playoff road games. I like those trends to continue.

The Blackhawks got contributions from a few struggling stars Saturday – watch Brandon Saad, Patrick Sharp and Brent Seabrook’s confidence rise as we head deeper into the series.

Chicago Blackhawks +114

I picked Chicago to win this series – I think they make a huge statement Monday!
