The Wild, who haven’t yet nailed down a postseason berth have suddenly hit the skids after being the hottest team in the league for the good part of two months – they have gone 0-2-1 in their last three and hope to beat a Hawks team that has beaten them three of the last four meetings. The Blackhawks still have a Central Division crown in their sites but they will have to win out and hope that St. Louis stumbles through the final week of the season.

The Wild have made quite a run the second half of the season but still need to win games this final week to guarantee them a spot in the playoffs. They have won an astounding 10 straight games on the road and will need a few more to assure that they make the playoffs.

Minnesota’s goal scoring has disappeared the last week – during their 0-2-1 stretch they have mustered a combined four goals – they enter off a shutout loss at Winnipeg. Kyle Brodziak, Nino Niederreiter and Chris Stewart are pointless in their last three games, Ryan Suter has one point in his last six games, and Jordan Leopold hasn’t hit the scoresheet in seven games. The balance for the Wild is struggling right now – not a good sign with the Hawks on the horizon.

Devan Dubnyk will be in goal for the 39th straight time for Minnesota. He is 26-8-2 since being traded to the Wild with a superb 1.75 goals against average and .937 save percentage.

[dfads params=’groups=16&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

On the road he’s been particularly special – 10-0-0 with a 1.19 GAA and .963 save percentage. In the second game of back-to-backs, he’s 5-0-1 with a 1.67 GAA – amazing. However in Chicago, Dubnyk is 1-3-0 with a 4.48 GAA in five starts.

The Chicago Blackhawks let one get away from them on Sunday in a 2-1 home loss to St. Louis but the team had looked terrific in both ends of the rink before that loss – they won four straight games while outscoring the opposition 15-8.

The offense has come alive and will be looking to rebound from scoring just once last time out. Jonathan Toews looks as though he is ramping up for the playoffs, Marian Hossa has five points in four games and Brandon Saad has two points in two games. The Hawks have scored at least four goals in each of their last three wins against Minnesota – hopes are they can continue that success Tuesday.

[dfads params=’groups=64161&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Expect Corey Crawford to get the nod between the pipes on Tuesday – he has looked elite lately. He has gone 2-1-0 in his last three starts with a 2.01 GAA and .942 save percentage and has posted even better numbers against Minnesota – 3-1-0 in his last four starts with a 1.96 GAA and .947 save percentage.

NHL Gambling Trends

• Under is 8-1-3 in MIN last 12 road games.
• Under is 5-1-2 in MIN last 8 Tue. games.
• MIN are 14-3 in their last 17 road games.
• CHI are 6-2 in their last 8 vs. Western Conference.
• CHI are 7-3 in their last 10 Tue. games.
• Under is 18-8-5 in CHI last 31 overall.
• MIN are 3-14 in the last 17 meetings in Chicago.
• Home team is 19-7 in the last 26 meetings.

The Blackhawks have won three of four in the season series while scoring at least four goals in each win. I expect that trend to continue Tuesday. The Wild simply don’t match up well against the Hawks and they have lost 14 of their last 17 games in Chicago.

NHL Betting 4* Free Play

April, May and June brings the best out in Chicago – don’t expect a letdown Tuesday. Take the Hawks to maintain their home domination over the Wild – there is too much on the line for the home team.

Chicago Blackhawks -147
