Kings Look For Commanding Lead – Host Blackhawks in Game 5 Monday
Full marks to the Los Angeles Kings so far in the Western Conference – they lead 2-1 and have outscored the Blackhawks 10-4 in the past five periods. The Blackhawks have some work to do – the Kings have been the better team in all three games of the series so far and LA’s second line has been absolutely lights out!

Chicago needs a win badly but is up against and uber-hot foe as we enter Game 4 Monday night.
The Chicago Blackhawks continue to get nothing from their second line in the series – Patrick Kane, Michal Handzus and Patrick Sharp have one goal combined in the three games – Kane has one goal in his last eight games and Sharp has just three goals in his last 15 games – amazing.
The Kings second line has produced 15 points in the 3 games – that’s where the series is being won. Kris Versteeg, and Patrick Kane are pointless in the series and Bryan Bickell is pointless in four games. A lot of guys are struggling for the Hawks right now – at precisely the wrong time. Sharp did get a cheap one with five seconds left in Game 3 – maybe that will kickstart him.
Corey Crawford hasn’t exactly been the difference make that the Blackhawks expected – he has surrendered 10 goals in his last two starts and has a .855 save percentage in those games – ugly.
For the Kings – everything is going right – they are converting seemingly every chance they get. The Kings have scored three times in nine opportunities on the power play in the first three games of the Western Conference Final and another one of LAs goals came seconds after a power play chance.
The second line of left wing Tanner Pearson, center Jeff Carter and right wing Tyler Toffoli has been absolutely insane so far in the series, Carter has five goals, Toffoli has three goals, and Pearson has four assists – 15 points combined in three games! But the Kings have their share of struggling players – Marian Gaborik is pointless in the series and Dustin Brown is pointless in his last five games.
It looks like Jonathan Quick is back to being the difference maker in this series. Since giving up 17 goals in the first three games against the Sharks, this guy has been stellar – 27 goals against in his next 14 games. If the Kings keep taking care of business in the offensive end, Quick will do his part. Quick has given up eight goals so far in the series but has been rock solid when the team needs it the most.

A few trends to consider:
• CHI are 29-10 in their last 39 Mon. games.
• CHI are 7-19 in their last 26 road games.
• Over is 5-2-1 in CHI last 8 road games.
• LA are 19-7 in their last 26 games following a win.
• Under is 21-9-7 in LA last 37 home games.
• LA are 21-9 in their last 30 Mon. games.
• Home team is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings.
• CHI are 20-8 in the last 28 meetings.
Absolutely every sign is pointing the Kings way in this one – everything. LA is on fire – they have scored on three of their last seven power play chances. With their disciplines, physical style – they seem to be taking the Blackhawks out of their game – and Corey Crawford isn’t stealing any games right now. In my eyes – the Blackhawks are in trouble.
Pick: LA Kings -131
