NFL Week 6 Lock Alert – Philadelphia Eagles vs. Oakland Raiders
Lifeless Raiders Host Philadelphia Eagles
If you were slightly worried about Donavan McNabb’s return from a cracked rib, then he put your fears to rest by cracking out a can of whoop-ass on Tampa Bay. McNabb was near perfect last weekend with 16-of-21 for 264 yards and three touchdowns. The second best scoring offense remains intact, and gets to face the 26th ranked defense in the league when they pay a visit to Oakland this weekend.

The only concern for the Eagles is Brian Westbrook, but this guy is as solid as they get. Admittedly, his ankle is hurting his usually incredible production. But he’s willingly said that he would split carries with LeSean McCoy, which is exactly what they did last weekend. Each back got 6-carries a piece, though neither did much with them. If that’s the only concern for the Eagles’ offense, then they have nothing to worry about. McCoy is a fresh rookie ready to pummel and prove himself, and the crafty Westbrook still has some left in the tank. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) vs. Oakland Raiders (1-4)
Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, Oakland
Sunday, October 18th — 4:05pm EST
NFL Betting Line: Philadelphia -14 (40.5)
What do you want me to tell you about Oakland that you don’t already know? They’re 5-16 ATS in their last 21 home games and are just 1-6 SU in their last 7 home stands. While a 4-1 ATS record against Philadelphia is comforting, it doesn’t take in to consideration that they haven’t played each other in four years.
The Raiders look simply awful, and the Eagles are 13-5 ATS on the road. Oakland managed to cover a 10-point spread in Week 1 against San Diego, but they haven’t beaten the line in three weeks. A big reason for that is because they’ve only scored a total of 16-points in two weeks. Philadelphia hasn’t scored fewer than 22-points in any game this year. Have fun with this gimme, and don’t sweat it out too much.

Ray, I am with you on this one. With the exception of the Saints game, Philly has scored 30+ points in the rest of their games.
The Raiders may not be the worst team in the league, but they are the most disfunctional at this point so a 14 point spread is not nearly enough.
