Week 6 NFL Betting – Brett Favre and the Vikings take on the Ravens

Brett Favre Faces off Against Ravens

All the preseason chatter surrounding the Vikings circled around Brett Favre coming in after training camp, and Adrian Peterson being God’s gift to football. But what about Jared Allen, who ranks third overall with 6.5 sacks, with a fumble recovered in to a touchdown and a safety on top of it all?

Sure, he looks like that dude from Con Air jacked up on clear cream, but man is he exciting to watch! Maybe Allen’s vicious play on Sunday will remind Baltimore of what they used to be.

The Ravens defense stinks. I said it. Man, they couldn’t stop a hick from getting swine flu while he was having unprotected sex with a hog. They rank 10th overall with 314.0 yards against per game, but are giving up 19.4 points, ranking them 12th in points allowed. Not that that’s terrible, but the Ravens defense has always been based on fear and intimidation. [soliloquy id=”82219″] They haven’t scared anyone this season, which is exactly why they’re coming off back-to-back losses to Cincinnati and New England. Hell, you take out that gong show against Cleveland, and they’re allowing 23.5 points per game which would rank them 22nd in the league. Throw on the stupid penalties that they are queuing up to put opponents in scoring range, and you have a veritable disaster in the making in Minnesota.

The Vikings boast speed, power, a decisive quarterback, height and virility on offense. With Brett Favre, this team has jumped up in to the top-3 in scoring offenses, with 31.2 points per game. Adrian Peterson may be the second back in decades to get 100-yards against this Ravens rushing defense, but accounting for Brett Favre, Percy Harvin and Simeon Rice is going to give the Ravens headaches all day long.

Baltimore Ravens (3-2) vs. Minnesota Vikings (5-0)
Sunday, October 18th —- Metrodome, Minneapolis — 1:00pm EST
NFL Betting Line: Minnesota -3 (44.5)

The stock on Joe Flacco is sinking fast after a 186-yard effort that saw him throw just one touchdown and two picks against the Bengals. While he was built to play quarterback, he has a long way to go and his defense is not putting him in a winnable position. He has five picks this season and has zero excuses with an offensive line that has allowed him to get sacked just seven times this season.

The oddsmakers still haven’t caught up on the Ravens defense this year which is why Minnesota is only getting the natural home team line for Week 6 NFL betting. But take a look at that TOTAL, and you get the idea of what they think Baltimore’s defense is going to allow on the scoreboard. Start all your Vikings this weekend in fantasy and watch Favre show Flacco exactly how to be a hall of fame quarterback.

The Vikings are a very hard team to beat at home, but I would take the Ravens simply because I do not see them losing 3 straight games. Flacco wins it on a late 4th quarter drive.
