Free Week 13 NFL Totals Predictions

Its week Thirteen of the 2009 NFL season and we pick and preview all of the week 13 matchups from an OVER/Under NFL betting perspective this season…

NFL Week 13 Betting Preview

After three straight weeks of the underdogs dominating the picks, last week the favorites rose to the occasion. Only four teams getting points covered the spread and only one team, Buffalo won outright. It was a great week to be home for the holiday as 13 home teams won straight up, with eight covering the spread. For the second week in a row the under was the best play as 11 games stayed under their total, while only five went over.

The wildest under result was the New England@ New Orleans game which totaled 55 points on a total line of 55 ½.

Here is a rundown of all this week’s games and the current lines as supplied by MySportsbook.com.

Thursday, Dec. 3

New York Jets (-3) vs. Buffalo Bills (at Toronto)
Over/Under 37

Suddenly Terrell Owens is starting to make plays and Buffalo is starting to score points and win some games. The Jets are still clinging onto their playoff life, but it is too little too late. The Bills and the OVER.

Sunday, Dec. 6

Philadelphia Eagles (-6) at Atlanta Falcons
Over/Under 44

Without QB Matt Ryan and possibly RB Michael Turner it will be a tall task for Atlanta to stop an Eagles team that has begun their annual stretch run for the playoff. The Eagles and the OVER.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers (-6)
Over/Under 41

It looks like Matt Moore is going to get the start at QB for Carolina in place of the injured Jake Delhomme. This change may actually bring a spark to the offense this week. The Panthers and the UNDER.

St. Louis Rams at Chicago Bears (-9)
Over/Under 41

Jay Cutler is due for a big week, especially with the Bears playing at home. What better team to have it against than the Rams. The Bears and the UNDER.

Detroit Lions at Cincinnati Bengals (-13)
Over/Under 42

Neither team has scored more than 20 points in their last several games. Cincinnati’s defense has become the strength of this team. The Bengals and the UNDER.

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts (-7)
Over/Under 46.5

Vince Young and the Titans would love nothing more than keeping the Colts from setting the all-time consecutive regular season wins record at 21. They may not pull off the win but they will keep it close. The Titans and the OVER.

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars (-1)
Over/Under 46.5

Houston had their chances this year, but just does not know how to put teams away. Jacksonville will find a way to win to stay in the thick of the playoff chase. The Jaguars and the OVER.

Denver Broncos (-4.5) at Kansas City Chiefs
Over/Under 38

This is a crucial game for Denver to keep them one back of the red hot Chargers. A slip up against the Chiefs would shatter their already fragile confidence level. The Broncos and the OVER.

Oakland Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers (-11.5)
Over/Under 36.5

Pittsburgh needs to go on a tear in December if they are to have any chance to defend their title. The Raiders shouldn’t stand a chance in this one. The Steelers and the OVER.

New Orleans Saints (-10) at Washington Redskins
Over/Under 47.5

Despite their 3-8 record and a myriad of injuries, the Redskins will give New Orleans all they can handle in this game. If the Saints are going to stumble, this will be the week. The Redskins and the UNDER.

San Diego Chargers (-12.5) at Cleveland Browns
Over/Under 43

The only thing that might save the Browns in this game is the Cleveland weather. The snow and cold will only slow San Diego down, it will not stop them. The Chargers and the UNDER.

Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) at Arizona Cardinals
Over/Under 49

If Kurt Warner is ready to go, I like Arizona’s chances in this game. They are one of the few teams that can really attack the Vikings only real weakness, their defensive secondary. The Cardinals and the OVER.

Dallas Cowboys (-1.5) at New York Giants
Over/Under 45.5

This is the biggest game of the year for the Giants as a loss could end their season, but a win puts them right back in the hunt. Tom Coughlin will have his team ready. The Giants and the UNDER.

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks (-1)
Over/Under 40.5

The 49ers still clinging to a faint shot at the playoffs, but they are a horrible road team. Pride is on the line for Seattle. The Seahawks and the UNDER.

New England Patriots (-6) at Miami Dolphins
Over/Under 46

The Patriots almost need this win as much as Miami does. Their defense was completely exposed by the Saints and they need to quickly find a way to fix it. The Patriots and the OVER.

Monday, Dec. 7

Baltimore Ravens at Green Bay Packers (-3)
Over/Under 43.5

This is a must win for both these teams to keep them in the thick of a wildcard race. Green Bay at home in December on Monday night gives them the advantage. The Packers and the UNDER.

There are several teams that need to “man up” this week or their post season plans may be in serious jeopardy. My top men this week are N.Y Giants, Patriots, and the Steelers.
