NFL Prop Predictions: Free 2014 Rushing Leader Gambling Lines & Pick

2014 NFL Picks / Prop Bets

Given the importance of having a strong running game in the NFL, the rushing title is one of the more highly coveted prizes among players, and it’s led to its fair share of entertaining competitions in recent seasons. Keep checking in with Cappers Picks all season long for winning angles and free weekly NFL Expert picks from our sports handicapping experts.

Here are five running backs that will be major players in the race for the rushing crown this season.

Rushing Title Odds: Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings (+400)

The Vikings did little to improve their offense at the skill positions during the offseason, even letting their No. 2 back leave to start in Jacksonville. That means the focus of the offense will again be on All-Day.

New offensive coordinator Norv Turner loves his bell cows, and Peterson is going to get all the work he handle. Last season’s performance was considered a disappointment by many following his 2,000-yard season, but the key takeaway was that the Oklahoma product didn’t lose a step.

Another year removed from knee surgery, he’ll be back to running over defenders.

Rushing Title Odds: LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia Eagles (+450)

Chip Kelly’s offense translated to the NFL just fine, and one of the biggest benefactors was Shady, who led the league in rushing by a healthy margin. With another year of learning the system under his belt, things should only improve in year two.

Darren Sproles remains more of a change of pace back, and doesn’t represent a legitimate threat to McCoy’s touch, much in the way Bryce Brown’s presence didn’t play a factor.

Rushing Title Odds: Alfred Morris, Washington Redskins (+1400)

The Redskins brought in some new weapons to play on the outside, and that’s going to help take a lot of attention away from the run game.

Morris took a bit of a step backward a year ago, but that came with the territory, which is to say that the Redskins were losing a bunch and Griffin didn’t have the same spring in his step as he did in his rookie season.

The Redskins are poised for some big things on offense, and Morris will be happy to get in on the good times.

Rushing Title Odds: Chris Johnson (+3300)

CJ2K makes the move to New York and will get to play behind the best offensive line he’s played behind in years. The Jets have shown a willingness to jam the ball down the throats of opponents under Rex Ryan.

Johnson comes to town with a chip on his shoulder and has something to prove. A motivated runner with as much to prove as Johnson is a dangerous thing.

Rushing Title Odds: Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh Steelers (+5000)

Bell missed the first three games of last season but still received a slew of carries – 244 of them to be exact. LeGarrett Blount is in town, but doesn’t pose a real threat to Bell’s workload.

The Steeler offensive line is getting better, and the sophomore running back will again be seeing significant volume this season. He has a chance at a breakout season.

CappersPicks.com has NFL odds up on a ton of futures, and you will also find NFL lines up for early games as well.
