That may sound like a blasphemous statement but the Ravens’ and of course the Steelers, have not played to expectations this season at all.

Things get a little bit tighter too because whoever wins this one can gain ground on Cincinnati after the Bengals lost to the Dolphins on Thursday night.

Baltimore

The Baltimore Ravens are kind of on the precipice of a wasted season. With the Chiefs and Broncos flying so high there is going to be a lot of competition and a pretty high threshold for that second Wild card spot in the AFC. The first step is getting back to a .500 record this weekend on the road.

The real key for Baltimore is that they have to play better on offense which starts and ends with QB Joe Flacco. He is not getting help from his offensive line or his running backs but he has to be able to suck it up and pay the price to make some plays. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The defense is more than good enough to get them to the playoffs but he has to lead them there.

That means keeping the ball away from the other team, for starters. Be wary of the Ravens this year.

Cleveland

Remember when the Browns were kind of the toast of the NFL. That might be a stretch but for a while there they were looking viable. Don’t let those brief moments lead you astray s this is not a very good team.

Trading Trent Richardson did nothing for a below average running game and even though Jason Campbell looked alright last week there is a good reason he has been a backup QB that hasn’t found a home. When the Browns were looking promising it was in part because of a defense that was looking greatly improved.

Those impressions haved been tempered over the last month plus so betting any unders with these guys should be as much about their own lack of offensive punch.

The Browns may be improved this season but I would prefer to get down with teams that are turning improvement into real results.

Spread Pick: Baltimore -1
O/U Pick: Under
Score Prediction: Baltimore 27 – Cleveland 16
