Now there is a chance they could actually miss the playoffs altogether but there is a simple remedy for that – win on Sunday against a Bucs team that has nothing to play for, albeit one who played the Saints very close back in week 2.
If you can’t win at home when everything is on the line against a non-contender, you don’t deserve to make the playoffs.

The Bucs avoided a completely disastrous season long ago but they really haven’t accomplished much this season. They have lost three of their last 4 games and have just one road victory this season so are they really a threat this week?

The Bucs think they have found their signal caller of the future in Mike Glennon but this team is still ranked last in passing yardage – let that sink in, worse than teams like Cleveland and Jacksonville – and that is with a legit top receiver in Vincent Jackson.
What they don’t have is top back Doug Martin, instead speedy Bobby Rainey has been pretty effective, he has had a couple of big games but too often does not reach that top gear that few in the NFL have.

If Tampa is going to win they have to hit some big plays on Sunday.
New Orleans
Last week the Saints probably outplayed the Panthers in Carolina but they lost, putting tremendous pressure on themselves this week. The good thing is that they control their own destiny and are playing at home where they haven’t lost this season.
In addition to the win the Saints will be looking to get QB Drew Brees right.
Overall he is enjoying another very good season but he has thrown two interceptions in each of the last two games, after looking brilliant when they beat the Panthers to start the month.
New Orleans have lost three of their last four games to be in this situation but Brees does not have to do it all himself with a defense that is ranked in the top 10 in a number of categories and has a nice pass rush going.
You have to believe they will win but that is an awful lot of points.
