Meanwhile, the Rams are hoping their quarterback, rookie Sam Bradford, plays like he did last week opposed to how he did in the first three December games.

This is a coin flip but home field advantage may turn out to be the difference.

How Can St. Louis Win?

Get a turnover-free game from quarterback Sam Bradford.

It hasn’t garnered much attention, but the Rams have quietly become Bradford’s team. He’s the reason they win or lose on a weekly basis now; not Steven Jackson.

Bradford had a good game against the San Francisco 49ers but the jury is still out on the rookie quarterback. He’s definitely going to be a franchise player and a Pro Bowler, but Bradford had struggled in his first three December games. If he reverts to that fashion – where he didn’t top the 200-yard passing mark while throwing for no touchdowns and five interceptions –  then the Rams will lose.

A good game from Jackson would help take the pressure off of Bradford. He made the Pro Bowl this year but his 3.7 yards per carry indicate that he hasn’t been at that level.

How Can Seattle Win?

Ride their defense and special teams to victory.

The offense is influx right now. Even if Matt Hasselbeck can play, he’s not being very effective and the passing game is in shambles. The offensive line can’t protect and the Seahawks haven’t been a good running team in years.

The good news is that the Seahawks are at home, which is typically one of the best home fields in the NFL. They’ve used their defense and special teams to win games against teams like San Diego and Chicago. They can do it again.

On defense, they have to shutdown Jackson, who has never had a 100-yard rushing game against Seattle. If that’s the case, the Seahawks should be able to send blitzes and tee-off on Bradford.

They need to win the turnover battle to win this game.

Outlook

The Rams looked good last week but they are still a young team with a rookie quarterback. Laying points with them on the road in Seattle is a risky proposition.

If the Seahawks can neutralize the Rams offense, this will be a dogfight. If that’s the case, the Seahawks will be at home with the crowd urging them on, and they will have a slight edge.

While Hasselbeck is questionable, the Seahawks are actually as healthy as they have been across the roster otherwise. That will be a key in their win on Sunday.
