The Jags finally showed some heart against the G-Men and picked up a win while the Texans dominated the Titans in a game that wasn’t close.

This is one of my favorite games from a betting standpoint this weekend. The Texans still have an outside shot at making the playoffs. There schedule isn’t too tough and a 3-1 record to end the year might work.

Houston absolutely can’t afford to lose this match-up. Ryan Fitzpatrick is back in at QB for Houston and he had a monster game last week against Tennessee. He’ll carry that momentum into this game.

The Texans come into this game averaging 23.9 PPG (13th), 220.0 PYPG (23rd) and 134.1 RYPG (4th). If they can get the pass game going again they’ll definitely cover, as the Arian Foster will get yards as well.

At the start of the season the bright spot for the Jaguars was supposed to be the defense. That didn’t end up working out though, as the Jags allow 27.4 PPG (28th), 253.8 PYPG (24th) and 129.4 RYPG (26th).

Watch out for DeAndre Hopkins in this one. Don’t expect another 238 receiving yards, but he’s a stud and next year will be a big one for him. Houston’s offense is good enough to manhandle the Jaguars.

In the 1H last week the Jags were terrible on both sides of the football, but they stepped it up in the 2H on both ends and won. Just don’t expect that to happen again against a defense like the Texans.

J.J. Watt is going to hound Blake Bortles in this game. Houston allows 20.6 PPG (11th), 270.3 PYPG (30th) and 111.9 RYPG (16th). As long as they pressure Bortles he won’t have time to air it out and beat them.

One thing I dislike is that a ton of money is coming in on Houston, but it’s understandable. Sure, the Jags beat the Giants last week, but they had no business winning that game and wouldn’t against most teams.

Jacksonville actually won both games in the H2H series last season, but the Texans were terrible. If you go past last year and look at the H2H series you’ll see that the Texans had won the five games prior.

Houston Texans –6 (-110)

Houston will get back to their winning ways against their division foe this weekend. The Texans will go up early like the Giants did, but the Texans defense will hold on to the lead, which the Giants couldn’t do.
