San Diego vs Miami Preview

On the season the Chargers are 5-3 ATS and they have an O/U record of 4-4 and the Dolphins are 4-3 ATS and they have an O/U record of 4-3.

This season the Dolphins are 1-2 at home and the Chargers are 2-2 on the road.

In their last games the Dolphins beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-13 and the Chargers lost to the Denver Broncos 35-21.

The Chargers were at 5-1 and riding high, but they have lost their last 2 games and both games were in the division as well. They head to the Sunshine State and are the slight 1.5-point betting underdog facing the Dolphins.

The Dolphins have won 3 of their last 4 games and their last 2 overall, but it is hard to figure out if they are for real. They did beat the Patriots in their season opener and played the Packers tough a few weeks back, but their last 3 wins have come against the Jaguars, Bears, and Raiders.

Phillip Rivers did pass for over 250 yards with 3 TD in the loss to the Broncos, but he was also picked off twice. He has 4 targets that have at least 370 receiving yards on the season led by Malcom Floyd and they may need a big game from Antonio Games, who creates match up problems with his size. The Dolphins have the league’s 3rd ranked pass defense and they have a good pass rush ranking 9th in the league in sacks.

Rivers has 3 picks in his last 2 games and he has to avoid the turnover in this game.

The Chargers only rank 30th in the league in rushing yards per game and they only had 61 yards on the ground in their last loss. After rushing over over 100 yards in 2 straight games RB Branden Oliver only has 103 rushing yards combined in his last 2 games. Miami ranks 16th in the league in run defense.

Ryan Tannehill has been decent in the last couple of games and Mike Wallace is main target with 32 catches and 418 yards with 5 TD on the season. However, Miami’s strength this season, which is surprising, is their rushing offense, which ranks 6th in the league led by Lamar Miller. The run game will be key for Miami in this game, as if they can run the ball it will not only help the offense, but help keep Rivers and the Chargers solid pass offense on the sidelines.

NFL Week 9 Betting Trends

* San Diego is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games.
* San Diego is 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
* Miami is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games against San Diego.
* The home team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between these 2 teams.

4* Cappers NFL Free Pick

Something tells me the Chargers are legit this season and while they have lost 2 straight they will win this game. Rivers and company will overwhelm Miami’s pass defense and San Diego will snap their 2-game losing streak with a W in Miami.
