Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins Preview

On the season the Cowboys are 9-6 ATS and they have an O/U record of 8-6-1 and the Redskins are 5-10 ATS and they have an Under record of 7-8.

This season the Redskins are 3-4 at home and the Cowboys are 7-0 on the road.

In their last games Cowboys beat the Indianapolis Colts 42-7 and the Redskins beat the Philadelphia Eagles 27-24.

With the Eagles losing last week and the Cowboys winning Dallas wrapped up the NFC East. They have a chance to get a first round bye, but it is slight one at best since they must win and have the Cardinals and Seahawks lose or have the Lions vs. Packers game end in a tie. Yeah, slight is the word.

Because of that will they rest some of their key players for this game?

Still, they are 6.5-point road betting facing the Redskins in the Nation’s Capital this Sunday.

The Redskins have had a season to forget, but they already beat Dallas in the Big D this season and they snapped their 6-game losing streak with their last win.

Robert Griffin III did not have a big game against the Eagles, but he was solid for a change and passed for 220 yards with 0 TD and 1 INT. He has a solid Wr corps le by big play guy DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon. While the Cowboys only rank 23rd in the league in pass defense they shut down the Colts top-ranked passing offense and Andrew Luck, who did not play the whole game.

Alfred Morris eclipsed the 1,000-yard marker for the season in the Eagles’ game where he rushed for 83 yards and a TD. The Dallas run D ranks a legit 9th in the league and to say they shut down the Colts ground game would be an understatement, as they held Indy to a grand total of 1 yard.

Will Tony Romo play? Not much at stake for the Cowboys, so backup Brandon Weeden may take some snaps. I would also think that the league’s rushing leader in DeMarco Murry will not get a lot of carries, as he has had a HUGE workload this season and is also dealing with a hand injury.

The Redskins rank 22md in the league in pass defense and 10th in run defense.

One of the main reasons the Redskins won earlier this season in the Big D was that they had 5 sacks.

NFL Week 17 Betting Trends

* Dallas is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games.
* Dallas is 8-18 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
* Washington is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games against the Cowboys.
* Washington is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
* Washington is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games.

4*Cappers NFL Free Pick

I think the Cowboys will rest many of their key players and Griffin will have a good finale, which may extend his stay in the Nation’s Capital. The Redskins may not win, but they will cover the spread.
