Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Preview

On the season the Ravens are 7-8-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 7-9 and the Steelers are 9-7 ATS and they have an O/U record of 9-7.

This season the Steelers are 6-2 at home and the Ravens are 4-4 on the road.

In their last games the Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals 27-17 and the Ravens beat the Cleveland Browns 20-10.

This is the 3rd meeting of the season between these AFC North rivals and each easily won at home in the season split. The Steelers have won 4 straight and they beat playoff bound Cincinnati twice in that streak.

The Ravens have won 3 of their last 4 games and they are happy that the Chargers lost last week, which let them slip in the playoffs.

Le’Veon Bell was the 2nd leading rusher in the league this season and he hurt his knee in the last game. While there is no big damage and he will play in this game will he be 100%. Obviously that is big for the Steelers, but in their 43-23 home win over the Ravens earlier this season Bell only went for 20 yards.

Ben Roethlisberger leads a Pittsburgh passing offense that ranks 2nd in the league and lead WR Antonio Brown leads the league in receiving yards and had 128 in the win over the Bengals. He had 144 receiving yards in the win over Baltimore at home and will be facing a Ravens’ pass D that ranks 24th in the league. Elvis Dumervil, who ranks 3rd in the NFL in sacks, leads a Ravens pass rush that has the 2nd most sacks in the league and must get to Big Ben in this game.

Bell will face a Pittsburgh Baltimore run D that ranks 4th in the league and if he cannot go it spells trouble for the Steelers, as their next leading rusher is Dre Archer and he has a grand total of 40 rushing yards on the season.

Joe Flacco had a decent season, but in his last 6 playoff games he has 15 TD and only 1 INT. Steve Smith and Torrey Smith are his top 2 targets and they need to play well facing a Pittsburgh pass D that only ranks 27th in the league.

Flacco had a solid game in the 2nd game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh, but he got little help from the rushing offense.

The Steelers rank a solid 6th in the league in run defense and if they can contain Justin Forsett like they did the last time facing Baltimore they will be in good shape.

4* Cappers NFL Free Pick

Even with the issue with Bell and his knee I have to go with the Steelers at home in this one to win and cover the spread.
