Week 4 NFC Handicapping

As we head into week four of the 2008 NFL Football betting season the handicapping of matchups continues with a look at the NFC conference top betting teams.

NFC is the Power Conference But Where’s the Power?

Without a doubt the NFC is the better conference this NFL Season. NFL betting fans had better start looking to the NFC for favorites that could cover online sportsbook betting spreads or underdogs that could beat BetUS online sportsbook betting spreads.

How good is the NFC this season? The Carolina Panthers beat the San Diego Chargers, who just finished demolishing the New York Jets on Monday night, and then lost to an 0 and 2 team starting their back-up quarterback, the Minnesota Vikings. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears, two of the best defensive teams in the NFL this season, played a rather high-scoring game of 51 total BetUS over/under points. Both teams were fighting for their second win of the season.

The New Orleans Saints were down by 18 points against an undefeated AFC team, the Denver Broncos, but not only came back but should have won on a last minute field goal. Unfortunately, the Saints’ kicker, Martin Grammatica, missed.

The NFC’s power status is a direct contrast to what happened last season. For online sportsbook betting fans, paying attention to NFC teams and games could yield huge online betting profits.

Let’s take a look at some of the teams that have made a huge impact this season, online betting wise, from the NFC:

Dallas Cowboys – – This team is dynamite. The BetUS over/under looked like a shoo-in but then the Packers didn’t come through with their end of the bargain. Still, the Cowboys are a good bet to go over in almost every game this season. Always take a look at the BetUS over/under when this team plays. They also appear to be the New England Patriots of this season. They didn’t cover versus the Philadelphia Eagles, but Philly is very good this season. They covered a huge online betting spread in their first game of the season against the Cleveland Browns and then followed it up this past Sunday by covering the – 4 point online betting spread in their game versus the Packers. This is the key online wagering team – – not just in the NFC but in the entire NFL.

Philadelphia Eagles – – The Eagles have beaten or covered the BetUS online sportsbook betting spread in three straight weeks. There’s nothing not to like about this team right now. Even without Bryan Westbrook, who might miss some time because of a sprained ankle, this team is terrific. They beat the 6 ½ point spread in their game versus the Cowboys. They throttled the St. Louis Rams easily covering a 10 ½ point spread in that game. Then, they covered the 3 ½ point spread in their game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers this past Sunday. This is a serious team. NFL betting fans need to key in on the Eagles this season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – – Why do I love the Bucs? Because they lost against the BetUS spread in their first game of the season, but then came back and played like a real championship online wagering team. They dominated the Atlanta Falcons at home. Then they took their game to Chicago and beat the Bears straight-up as 3 ½ point online betting underdogs.

Washington Redskins – – 2 and 1 straight-up and 2 and 1 against the BetUS online betting spread. They deserve mentioning because they have incredibly tough games coming up starting this weekend versus the Dallas Cowboys. The Skins are 11 ½ point underdogs in that game. If they beat that spread, then forget it – – this team is real as an online betting option every weekend.

Green Bay Packers – – They aren’t for real and should get exposed this weekend on the road versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Still, they are 2 and 1 against the BetUS online betting spread. I still think they are a year away but, yes, I am eating crow after talking all that trash about Aaron Rodgers during the off season.

San Francisco 49’ers – – This team is getting good. They are 2 and 1 and play in one of the worst divisions in football. Nobody believes they are good. So, when they beat the 6 point BetUS online betting spread this weekend against the Saints, nobody is going to pay attention.  I think the 49’ers could ride their underdog status for a while which means online football betting fans could make a nice profit on this team – – for a while.

New Orleans Saints – – They aren’t a great team but I doubt there will be many games where the BetUS over/under goes under when they play this season. This team just has a terrific offense and, since their defense isn’t that great, opposing teams could score at will. Forget betting this team against the spread. Just concentrate on that BetUS over/under and profits should come!

St. Louis Rams – – I don’t believe that BetUS online wagering odds makers could come up with a high enough betting line that opposing teams won’t cover against the Rams. This is one of the worst football teams I’ve ever seen in my life. Will they win a game? I don’t think so. In fact, I’m going to say straight-out that no, this team will go 0 and 16. No defense, a horrid offense, and no heart. Even the 1 and 15 Miami Dolphins wanted to win. The Rams could care less. Bet against these guys every week, yes, give up the points, and watch your bottom line increase.
