For Carolina, Cam Newton did enough in camp to start earning his large paycheck and for Arizona, Kevin Kolb who was this year’s free Agent prize. Both teams are very different from a year ago!
Cam Newton will guide an offense that was dead last in almost every category last season. What he does have is perhaps the best running back duo in the NFL – DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart are healthy and rich and ready to prove some people wrong. He has Steve Smith and two great offseason Tight End acquisitions – Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shockey.
Arizona has proven that is all about the quarterback in the NFL. It was not that long ago that the Cards were representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. The team isn’t that drastically worse except for at one position – quarterback. Enter Kevin Kolb. The big fish. It should be interesting. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Kolb has at his disposal one of the most gifted athletes in the NFL – Larry Fitzgerald. There is no reason why Fitz. doesn’t return to his old form and dominate his competition. Add in an impressive preseason and training camp by Beanie Wells and things are certainly looking up for the Arizona Cardinals.
The defenses are awash. Carolina boasts Charles Johnson who had 11 ½ sacks last season, Jon Beason and James Anderson while the Cardinals counter with Darnell Dockett, Vonnie Holiday and highly touted draft pick Patrick Peterson.

Betting Prediction: I think the play here is the Over – 37 points. It is hard to imagine that the offenses won’t come out firing in this one. There are legitimate weapons on both teams and I think that there will be some scoring.
As for the Spread, I think 7 points may be a little high but I have faith that the Cards will perform in one of the loudest buildings in the NFL. At the end of the day, Cam Newton has never seen anything like he is about to see on Sunday.
