Week 10 Baltimore Ravens vs Seattle Seahawks NFL Free Pick – Odds – Handicapping

The Baltimore Ravens will be riding a wave of good fortune into Seattle to take on the Seahawks on Sunday on the heels of an impressive comeback win against Pittsburgh on Sunday night.

BALTIMORE RAVENS (6-2) vs. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (2-6)
Date/Time: Sunday, November 13, 4:05 PM ET
Venue: CenturyLink Field, Seattle, Washington
Broadcast: CBS
Ravens vs. Hawks Betting Lines from betonline.com
Spread: Ravens -6 ½
Moneyline: Ravens -300: Seahawks +250
Over/Under: 41 points

Does anyone smell a trap game? The Seahawks played a typically below average game against Dallas last week but covered the 11 ½ point spread. The Hawks are a different team at home than they are on the road – despite the initial thoughts about this game, it may be better than advertised!

Baltimore is an absolute top notch team especially on defense. Joe Flacco “grew up” on Sunday night and appeared as control of his offense as he has all season long. With Ray Rice in the fold, an effective Joe Flacco could make the Ravens one of the most balanced teams in the NFL.

Baltimore currently owns the 12th ranked passing game in the NFL. Flacco has looked better and Anquan Boldin has really stepped up his game. Surprisingly, the Ravens own the 22nd ranked running game – only 102 yards per game. But Ray Rice is a handful and a weapon all over the field. Baltimore scores the 7th most points per game in the NFL – 26.00 per game.

The signature of the Ravens continues to be the defense. Ray Lewis and company are doing it again! They are 5th against the pass (192.63 yards per game) are 3rd against the run (86.75 yards per game) and they give up the 2nd least points per game in the NFL – 16.25.

Seattle continues to fumble their way through the season. Mistakes, penalties and all around underwhelming play have this team lucky to have two wins. There are few bright spots for the Seahawks but perhaps the biggest factor for the coming into Sunday’s game is the realization that they are playing at home. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Seattle’s passing game is 23rd in the NFL. Although they have looked better with Tarvaris Jackson at the helm, there is no ignoring the fact that Jackson has thrown only six touchdowns this season to go along with none interceptions. Unflattering numbers for an unflattering pivot! Seattle’s running game has been brutal as well but is coming off its best performance of the season – 135 yards and a score against Dallas. They are 30th in the NFL and are averaging 88.25 yards per game. Against Baltimore, expect these numbers to take yet another hit!

Seattle’s defense has been OK but has not created any turnovers for their offense. They have generated just 13 sacks this season; have forced six fumbles and eight interceptions. They are 18th against the pass and are 13th against the run.

Betting Prediction: The Baltimore Ravens are 5-1 SU in their last six games and are 6-3 SU in their last nine games on the road. The Ravens are 4-2 SU in their last six versus the Hawks but are just 3-5-1 ATS in their last nine against the Seattle. Baltimore is 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five trips to Seattle. The Seattle Seahawks are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games overall and are 4-1 ATS in their last five at home.

It is hard to believe that the Ravens are only favored by 6 ½ points – the line should jump closer to game time. To be blunt, Baltimore is good and Seattle is bad. These teams are in two totally different classes. I suppose that the Ravens could be looking past Seattle but a tight race in the AFC North should have them focused. Seattle has been good against the spread but against an elite Baltimore team, covering may too much to ask!

Pick: Baltimore Ravens -6 ½
