Super Bowl XLVI Preview | Giants Odds to Win 2012 SuperBowl

Super Bowl 46 – Giants Sportsbook Lines

After a long hard fought season, it will be the New England Patriots and the New York Giants in Super Bowl 46. The Giants ruined the Patriots perfect season in Super Bowl XLII. There is no perfect season for the Patriots this time around, but the Giants are still listed as the underdog.

Let’s take a look at the Super Bowl XLVI odds, and then I’ll explain why I think the Giants are going to win it all again this year.

Why the Giants Will Win Super Bowl 46:

The Giants odds to win the Super Bowl are being undervalued by the oddsmakers at this point. The Patriots have the better overall record, but the Giants have a lot going for them in this game. Let’s take a look at what I believe are the biggest reasons the Giants are going to win this Super Bowl rematch.

The Giants Have the Better Defense

As the old saying goes, defense wins championships. There really is no debating which team has the better defense in this matchup. Jason Pierre-Paul will be the best defensive player on the field in this one. Pierre-Paul may well be named the defensive player of the year in the NFL. He has racked up 16.5 sacks this season. He is also terrific against the run game due to his great lateral movement. Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck are part of the great defensive front for the Giants as well. The Giants wreaked havoc in the backfield in Super Bowl 42 against the Patriots, and I expect the same thing to happen in this one. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Underrated Play Makers on the Outside

Everyone knows that Tom Brady has some terrific targets on the outside, but the Giants stars at wide receiver are underrated. Victor Cruz caught 82 passes during the regular season, and he came up with ten huge catches last week in San Francisco. Cruz has averaged almost 19 yards per catch this year, and he is definitely capable of taking it to the house every time he touches the ball. Hakeem Nicks had seven big catches and two touchdowns in the Giants upset win at Green Bay. Nicks has massive hands that allow him to make some incredible catches. Both of these guys should be able to get open consistently against a poor Patriots secondary.

Road Tested

Last year the Green Bay Packers went on the road through the postseason and got it done in the Super Bowl. The Giants had to play in two tough environments at Green Bay and San Francisco the last two weeks. New England was 10-2 at home this year, but they’ll be away from home in this one. I think the Giants will benefit from having a tougher road and being more battled tested leading into this Super Bowl showdown.

The Giants odds to win Super Bowl XLVI are set too low at this point. If you are looking for a good value, the Giants are the way to go.
