Bills 2012-2013 NFL Futures Lines & Predictions

There is lots of excitement in Buffalo heading into this season.  They scooped up some serious defensive talent through free agency and are looking to make the AFC East a three team race (or at the very least finish a season).

2012 Buffalo Bills Team Preview / Prediction
2011 Record:  6-10
2011 ATS Record:  6-9-1
2012 Futures:
Super Bowl:  +8000
Conference:  +2500
Division:  +700
Win Total:  7.5

It looks like this team, which has been prone to fast starts and harsh fades, may finally have some staying power.

The key is going to be the play of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

It certainly looks like he can be good enough but he is not consistent enough yet.  The offense is loaded at running back but they need Fitz to be sharp, especially because their receiving talent is not elite – sorry Stevie Johnson (although you are very entertaining).

If the defense improves as expected it won’t have to be, and they can grind out games on the ground.

The Bills defense could be a monster this season with two new pass rushing ends in prize free agent Mario Williams and Mark Anderson.  If those two combine for 20 or more sacks looks for monster second year tackle Marcell Dareus to explode.   [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Shawne Merriman who?

The second and third levels are solid and I love the drafting of Stephon Gilmore, the rookie cornerback is probably the best athlete on the team.

The Bills should be much improved but will the value be lost with all the positive offseason activity and attention they are getting.

Last year all but one of their ATS wins came before the end of October when Buffalo was a feel good story.

If this team takes a while to gel on D you might want to play against for the first couple of weeks when expectations will be at their highest.

Prediction:  10-6
Conference:  5
Division: 2
Win Total:  Over
