Too make the loss even more painful,  Houston quarterback Matt Schaub was knocked out of the game with a lower leg injury.

Backup T.J. Yates came in, and things spiraled out of control quickly.

The offense has not had too much trouble moving the ball, but more importantly have not been able to find the end zone when they do, scoring an average of just over 17 points per game. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

That inefficiency will no doubt be magnified if Schaub is not fit to go on Sunday, as Yates, who won a playoff game as the Texans QB a few years back will get the nod.

That means the Texans will need to lean on running back Arian Foster who is averaging 4.5 yards per carry, but like the rest of team, has had a problem scoring points with just two touchdowns all season.

Defensively, it doesn’t get any better for the Texans who allow a 29th ranked 29.5 points per game, but are first in yards allowed at 252.8 per game.

The Texans will need to capitalize on any opportunities that its defense creates if they want to any chance of beating a KC team that has emerged as a legit contender in the AFC.

They made quick work of the Oakland Raiders on Sunday to continue their divisional domination at the command of first-year coach Andy Reid.

The biggest surprise for the Chiefs has been quarterback Alex Smith, who after a few up and down seasons in San Francisco, is playing well and bringing the best out of running back Jamaal Charles who is averaging four  yards per carry with five touchdowns.

Charles also leads Kansas City in receptions with 33 with and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs defense allows a NFL-best 11 points per game and a fifth-best 306 yards per game with 10 interceptions, 31 sacks and five fumble recoveries.

The Chiefs are on a roll and too be honest, should have no problem covering a one-score spread in this one.
