The Bengals haven’t posted a win in their last six straight trips to upstate New York, but they will look to get their season on a set of solid rails by stringing together two consecutive wins following a 13-6 upset over the New England Patriots in their most recent outing at Paul Brown Stadium.

Quarterback Andy Dalton completed 20-of-27 pass attempts for 212 yards in the win, but it was Cincy’s  stingy defense that sealed the deal.

Dalton has been silenced for the most part this season, failing to throw a touchdown pass for the second straight contest, while being intercepted in each of his last three games.

He has been unable to connect  with star wideout A.J. Green, who has been limited to 61 yards or fewer in four consecutive games.

The Bengals’ defense, meanwhile, ranks seventh in points allowed and eighth in yards surrendered, and will now take on a  Bills team that’s likely to start former Duke Blue Devil Thaddeus Lewis at quarterback in place of the injured EJ Manuel. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Bills are aiming for their third straight home win behind Lewis, whose only career start came in 2012, when he threw for 204 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Not bad, but not all that encouraging either.

With top wide receiver Stevie Johnson hurt, the Bills will lean heavily on their ground game, fueled by C.J. Spiller  and Fred Jackson who are both battling injuries.

Spiller played well however his last time out, running for a 54-yard touchdown, while Jackson ran for a pair of scores in a 37-24 loss in Cleveland on Oct 3.

 Matt’s Free Prediction

The Cincinnati Bengals are in a three way tie for first place in the AFC North, but they have yet to win a game away from home this season. In fact, they have been horrible on the road.

Meanwhile, the Bills have been strong at home, but also have a losing record.

The Bengals defense is one of the more solid units in the NFL.

With that, I have to go with the Bengals here.

Bengals 28, Bills 21.
