New York (5-5) benched its rookie quarterback Geno Smith in the fourth quarter of last week’s 37-14 loss at Buffalo, after he three no touchdowns and three interceptions in the last two games.

The loss blew the Jets chance to solidify their playoff chances.

Nevertheless, New York is still hanging onto the six seed in the AFC, but now they must battle it out with seven other teams that are all within a game of them.

New York has alternated wins and losses all season long and are due for a win on Sunday if it continues its trend. However, lately things are not as good as they seem, as the Jets have been outscored by 85 points and have recorded each of their five wins by a seven points or fewer.

The team’s success has depended almost solely on a strong rushing attack and a staunch de-fense that has allowed just allow 26 points and 324 yards per game, and are stingy against the run.

The two-headed offensive attack is led by Bilal Powell, who has rushed for 441 yards and Chris Ivory who has rushed for 467 yards — 119 in the last two games.

Meanwhile, the Ravens (4-6) are 17-3 over its last 20 home games, and are 3-1 this season, but fell for the fourth time in five games in a 23-20 overtime loss at Chicago last week.

Baltimore has gone five straight games without going beyond 20 points, and if they get their offense clicking, their playoff chase could be over.

The offense charge has been fueled by running back Ray Rice who got things going against the Bears last week, rushing for 131 yards. Nevertheless, he will now face a Ravens defense that boasts an NFL-best 73 yards against on the ground.

Including last week’s performance, Rice has rushed for just 420 yards with four touchdowns averaging three yards per carry.

Defensively, Baltimore allows just 21 points and 339 yards per game, but they are not the ball hawking unit we’ve seen in the past, with just a minus five turnover ratio.

Matt’s Free Prediction

Baltimore has won seven straight in the series.

This should be a physical game, and will be won with the defense, which still tilts in the Ravens favor.

Ravens 17, Jets 14
