Things in Houston (2-6) looked good, as the team kicked off its 2013 campaign with back-to-back wins. But since then, it’s been a downward spiral, as the Texans have lost six straight.

To make matters worse, head coach Gary Kubiak suffered a transient ischemic attack and collapsed on the field during the team’s most recent outing — a 27-24 loss to the Colts.

The Texans blew an 18-point lead  with just over four minutes left in the third quarter, sinking to an all-time low for the season.

It gets even worse for the Texans, who although ranking first in the NFL in passing defense, allowed three passing touchdowns in the final 15 minutes to watch its lead fade away.

Offensively, Houston quarterback Case Keenum has thrown for just 621 yards and four touchdowns, but does have no interceptions in two games. He could again be without running back Arian Foster due to a back injury, and if it comes down to a field goal during Sunday’s contest, the Texans could be in trouble.

Kicker Randy Bullock missed three field goal attempts in the loss to Indianapolis.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals have some personnel issues of their own , releasing  rookie tight end  D.C. Jefferson on Monday after an arrest for DUI.

Arizona (4-4) will arrive at the stadium, following a 27-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8.

The Cardinals dominated Atlanta defensively, holding it to 292 total yards, while sacking and picking off  Matt Ryan four times. The Cardinals secondary however, will get plenty of work Sunday against Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson.

In its win against the Falcons, Cards’ rookie running back Andre Ellington rushed for a career-high 154 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Carson Palmer threw a pair of touchdown passes, including one to  Larry Fitzgerald, who became the youngest player in NFL history to reach 800 receptions.

Matt’s Free Prediction

While I am a little doubtful about the Cardinals offense, there is no denying their defense is staunch. And with Johnson likely to be limited in terms of production, I expect Arizona to win this one especially if Ellington can get it done on the ground.

I’m taking the Cards here.

Cardinals 27, Texans 20
