While Green Bay has shown signs of brilliance and dominance this season, they still need a win this week to set themselves up with a shot to win the NFC North.

Green Bay

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has put on different types of shows throughout the season. He’s led the Packers to two 50+ point games along with two 40+ point games.

However, with the Packers stumble up last week, the door has been left open and the Detroit Lions have come right through to tie for the top spot in the NFC North. A win this week will set up a winner take all game next week in Green Bay against the Lions.

Through all this, the Packers can clinch a playoff spot at the least with a win Sunday. If they can get some help from others, they can potentially still take the NFC’s top spot and clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs. That being said, Green Bay just wants to take it one game at a time and clinch a spot in the playoffs first.

The problem hasn’t been the offense for the Packers. Rodgers and RB Eddy Lacy have led Green Bay to the 8th best passing offense (266.1 yards) and 11th best rushing offense (117.4 yards). With this attack, the Packers are averaging an impressive 31.1 points a game.

The struggles have come on the defensive side. Green Bay has allowed 23.2 points against. That number grows on the road, where most of the struggles for the Packers have come. They are allowing 26.0 points against away from Lambeau Field. The defense is allowing 237.7 yards through the air (16th) and 128.0 on the ground (27th).

Tampa Bay

All Tampa Bay has to play for is simply playing spoiler to the Packers and then Saints next week. While that is their number one goal, should they lose these two games, they’ll be up for a chance to grab the overall number 1 pick in next years draft. If they plan on playing the spoiler role, they’ll have to do something they haven’t done all year, get a win at home.

Tampa Bay can point to many reasons why they’re having a terrible year. They’re offensive production has lacked any sort of threat and their defense continues to struggle every week.

On offense, Tampa Bay hasn’t been able to find a leader under center. Both Josh McCown and Mike Glennon have switched off at the quarterback position throughout the season. The offense has thrown for just 221.9 yards this season (22nd). Combined, both quarterbacks have thrown for 18 interceptions.

Tampa Bay has lost 4 in a row and has scored under 20 points in all 4 contests.
