Houston

J.J. Watt can be on the cover of every magazine (or just ESPN and SI) but is doesn’t change the fact that the Texans are not in the race. This week they are primed to play spoiler to the Browns a team that has been a little too good to be true.

With a solid defense and effective running game they can definitely be good enough to beat Cleveland, even on the road. Just imagine where this team might be if they had gone with somebody with stronger credentials than Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB.

The Watt led defense should be able to handle the Browns attack which let’s face it is far from daunting.

That means this one will likely come down to whether Fitzpatrick, Arian Foster and the rest of the offense can do enough damage. To me the Texans are bit of a conundrum.

I am not a big fan of Fitz but with the weapons they have they should be better than 28th in passing.

Cleveland

It was a pretty impressive showing by the Browns last Thursday night. Depending on who you are listening to you might be hearing that Andy Dalton imploded but lets not forget the Browns were on the field.

I am not saying this team is for real but their record certainly is and if they have designs on making the playoffs this is a game they have to have. With a rookie head coach I wonder if they are prepared to take on a favourite role in such an important contest.

Its Cleveland.

You can not take the 6 wins they have away from them but Cleveland is still just an average team.

Defensively they are very sound but on offense they are mediocre at best and with Jordan Cameron out they don’t have a lot of weapons.

I know you don’t want to mess with Brian Hoyer but I wonder if they would be wise to put in Johnny Football to juice things up a little. This seems like the perfect spot.

The Browns gut this one out but the value is with Houston.

4* FREE NFL Score prediction: Cleveland 21 – Houston 20

Cleveland has way more pressure and the talent might actually tilt to the other side of the field. The Texans could easily win straight up.
