New Orleans has dominated the H2H series in recent years against Atlanta. The Saints are 8-2 (5-5 ATS) in the L10 games against the Falcons.

They won both of the games last season as well.

Atlanta was healthy in the first meeting and couldn’t beat the Saints on the road, but now they’re finally healthy again heading into the 2014 regular season and they’ll get a shot at revenge in Atlanta.

Julio Jones is back and he has the potential to be the #1 WR if he can stay healthy. Roddy White finished last season strong and while he’s aging he’s still a good receiver with excellent hands.

Tony Gonzalez is gone, but Matt Ryan still has a lot of targets.

Like in recent years, the run game is a work in progress and unlikely to produce much unless the rookie Devonta Freeman is a big surprise.

Drew Brees has a new weapon in rookie Brandin Cooks who has elite speed and definitely makes up for losing the aging Sproles.

Jimmy Graham will look to match his monstrous stat line from 2013.

New Orleans was one of the best at stopping the pass last season (194.1 PYPG – 2nd). That only ranked behind the Seahawks and the secondary is strong again, which will cause Ryan problems.

Atlanta on the other hand wasn’t nearly as good against the pass last year (243.6 PYPG – 21st). In the two wins last season Brees threw for 341 yards at home and 271 yards on the road.

The final scores in those two games were 23-17 and 17-13, which is lower than you probably assumed.

A lot of people automatically think points when they think about the NO and ATL passing offenses.

Free NFL Football Pick: Saints vs. Falcons

A lot of action has come in on the over, but I’m betting the under in this match-up. The Saints have one of the best defenses again this season and the Falcons defense will make stops at home.

If Atlanta can shutdown Graham with double teams the Saints will have trouble moving the football.

4* Play On Under 51.5 Points (-110)

The last three H2H games have gone under the total with none of the games going over 40 points.

I think you could make a case for either team to cover the point spread.

I lean to the Saints because their defense with Rob Ryan is amazing, but with the game being in ATL I’m not betting either team.
