St. Louis
St. Louis beat Oakland 52-0 last week…and it is not just because the Raiders are terrible.

This Rams team is pretty solid in most areas and you might be able to make the argument that if they had some legitimate NFL quarterbacking maybe they would have risen up similar to the way the Cardinals have this season. They have a chance to inch closer to .500 in this one as they are on the road to face a very poor Washington team. The Rams are getting better and they are not that far from contending.
Everything looks pretty good coming out of a 52-0 victory.

Shaun Hill is back in at QB and he played the kind of caretaker game that Shaun Hill does. Last week Tre Mason rushed for a career high 117 yards but a lot of that came on one 89 yard run. Things should be a little more difficult for both against Washington but if the Rams are mistake free they will win this one. Maybe a little closer than last week though.
Washington
Things are a mess in D.C. Last week Colt McCoy got the controversial start and he played brilliantly but the Redskins still got blitzed by Colts losing by 22 points. The offense was solid but the defense gave up nearly 500 yards and Washington wasn’t really in the game. If it isn’t one thing it is another with this team because when you look at the stats they should be closer to the middle of the pack than the bottom of the league. They are playing out the string so maybe that makes them dangerous. Maybe.

I was not exaggerating about McCoy. He threw for nearly 400 yard but the truth is the Colts defense is not very good. If the Redskins want to have a chance to win he will give it to him but without better defense it won’t matter all that much. Facing St. Louis they should be able to be more effective but they also have to take some chances. They are limping along right now and it is getting ugly.
