The Dolphins, off a tough loss to the Denver Broncos will look to climb back into the AFC playoff hunt against a Jets team that is falling apart at the seams.

Can the Jets muster something special or are they destined to continue the race for the #1 overall pick in next year’s NFL draft?

Dolphins

The Miami Dolphin may lost to the Denver Broncos is Week 12 but they did some good things and may have deserved a better fate than a 39-36 loss. The challenge this week in much easier – a loss Monday would be a deserved end to their playoff chances.

The Fins offense has improved seemingly every week as we head into their Monday night clash. The problem for the team is finishing off drives – they are near the bottom of the league in red zone efficiency – something that shouldn’t be a problem against a Jets defense that made Buffalo look like a Super Bowl caliber team.

Ryan Tannehill is finally realizing the potential that most saw in him coming out of college. Over his last six games he’s passed for an average of 239 yards and 2 TDs per game for a 104.2 QB rating while throwing just two interceptions over that span. He gets a crack at terrible Jets secondary that has been more than generous this year. Tannehill is hitting all of his receivers regularly and should have some success Monday.

The Jets have been surprisingly good against the run – Lamar Miller has been good for Miami but may have a difficult time Monday. He won’t be shut down – the Jets shut no team down but he likely won’t be dominant.

Miami’s defense has also been good – every aspect of the Fins defense has been formidable to say the least. Miami likely won’t have to be that good on the defensive side of the ball Monday – the Jets will likely shoot themselves in the foot!

Jets

So who’s it gonna be? Will Mike Vick or Geno Smith get the starting nod at quarterback? The latest word is that Smith will replace the seemingly disinterested Vick to run a team that was thoroughly outclassed Monday night against the Bills – they lost 38-3, gained a total of 218 yard and scored three points.

The Jets are an absolute mess – period. The only chance they have in this game is to ride a running game that is somehow third in the NFL with 141 yards per game. The running game gained 92 against the Bills but they only got 19 touches in the blowout loss. If Rex Ryan was watching Sunday he would have seen Denver’s CJ Anderson run for 201 yards against the Miami front.

Simply put New York has to put all of their trust into the running game – Geno Smith, Percy Harvin and the rest of the Jets passing game are not match for Miami’s very good secondary.

New York’s defense has been the one bright spot for the team but they too are coming off a dud against a previously struggling Buffalo offense. A big concern is the health of Muhammad Wilkerson who is questionable after sustaining an injury Monday night.

The Jets pass defense has been bad – allowing quarterbacks to complete 65 percent of their passes for 239 yards per game while giving up 27 touchdowns, three interceptions and a league-worst 109.4 quarterback rating.

New York has to hope that Miami leans on the run and ignores ALL the stats!

NFL Week 13 Betting Trends

This looks like the blowout of the weekend on paper – the Jets are coming apart at the right in front of our eyes. But last time we felt this way about New York they shocked the Chargers.

NFL Week 13 Betting Prediction

On Monday night football in a divisional game, some may be trapped into thinking this may be a close game – not me!

4* Free Play On: Miami Dolphins -6

Simply put the Fins are a good team – the Jets are among the worst. Miami gets it done in relatively easy fashion in a must-win game Monday night.
