The last time these teams faced off it was the Falcons coming out on top in a big way at the Georgia Dome in Week 4, coming away with a 56-14 victory. That wined upped at Atlanta’s record to 2-1 for the season, but the Falcons have since dropped five in a row.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan completed 21-of-24 passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns in that game. Wide receiver Julio Jones caught nine balls for 161 yards and two scores, but hasn’t scored a single touchdown since then.

The Buccaneers followed up their loss to the Falcons with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but they’ve lost four in a row since then. Josh McCown left the first meeting with a thumb injury and will return to action for the first time since then on Sunday. In three starts, he has compiled a 65.8 passer rating while throwing four interceptions and two touchdowns, with the Buccaneers going 0-3 in those games.

Atlanta raced out to a 56-0 margin in that first meeting, and that’s where the lead stood after three quarters. The Buccaneers got two meaningless scores late to bump up the number on their side of the scoreboard.

Running back Bobby Rainey assumed the role of lead back for the team in its last game, but it looks like the cavalry is on the way for this one. Running back Doug Martin has been nursing an ailing ankle but could suit up this weekend. More importantly, rookie running back Charles Sims is expected to make his season debut.

Free Tampa Bay vs. Atlanta Pick:

The Falcons ran away with the last meeting, but the Buccaneers are the more talented team in this matchup. The venue change should go a long way in helping them get their revenge, even if they are sending out the wrong guy under center.

Additionally, these divisional matchups have a tendency to play under the number. The Buccaneers’ defense has been due for a big performance for a while now and this could finally be the time they pull it off, facing a Falcons offensive line that has as many holes as Swiss cheese.

The home team is 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven meetings between these teams, and the Falcons are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games.

The under is 4-0 in the Falcons’ last four games overall, and it is 12-2 in their last 14 games played in the month of November.

The play: Buccaneers +2.5, Under 46.5
