The Colts enter this contest off an embarrassing loss, falling to the Dallas Cowboys in a rout, 42-7. Quarterback Andrew Luck had what may have been his worst game as a pro, throwing for 109 yards and two interceptions before exiting the game early.

The Titans are coming off an embarrassing loss of their own as they helped the Jacksonville Jaguars to a rare victory in a 21-13 decision. To add insult to injury, that game had a national audience on hand to watch the Titans drop their 13th game of the season. Titans quarterback Charlie Whitehurst completed 24 of 35 pass attempts for 287 yards and a score in that one.

Free Indianapolis vs. Tennessee Pick:

This game means nothing to the Colts, who can’t move up or down in the AFC standings regardless of the outcome in this game, and will open the playoffs as the No. 4 seed in the conference.

Even so, after the team was embarrassed by the Dallas Cowboys last weekend, head coach Chuck Pagano surely won’t be alright with taking this week off and entering the postseason flat.

Getting in on the Colts in the first half is probably the smarter play, as it’s tough to imagine Andrew Luck and the rest of the Indianapolis starters playing a full 60 minutes, but Matt Hasselbeck did look good running the offense a week ago, so maybe that’s overthinking things.

While the Titans have clearly given up on the season, Whitehurst has made the team’s offense slightly more functional, so there should be some points in this one.

Colts cornerback Vontae Davis has dealt with injuries all season and is likely to take a seat shortly after the half, and the team’s secondary is a mess without him.

NFL Betting Trends:

The Colts are 18-3 ATS in their last 21 games against opponents with a losing record, and they are 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings between these teams.

The Titans are 6-20-2 ATS in their last 28 games against AFC South opponents, and they are 2-12-2 ATS in their last 16 games following a loss.

The over is 10-3 in the Colts’ last 13 road games, and it is 4-1 in the Colts’ last five games following a loss.

The play: Colts -7, Over 46.5

The over is 11- 4 in the Titans’ last 15 games against opponents with a winning record, and it is 9-3 in the Titans’ last 12 games after scoring fewer than 15 points in their previous outing.
