The Saints sit atop the NFC South, but they surely aren’t happy with their 4-5 record. The team has endured its struggles on the road, but the Superdome has been a place where they usually win without question. That was, until last weekend’s overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers that ended an 11-0 run at home.

The key play in that game came on a late fourth down play inside the game’s final two minutes on which 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick extended a play with his feet by scrambling right, then heaving the ball downfield to a wide open Michael Crabtree, who has snuck in behind the Saints’ defense.

That led to a game-tying field goal, but the Saints still had time for a final drive of their own. After moving the ball into a position where they could attempt a final Hail Mary play, quarterback Drew Brees lofted the ball up, and while Jimmy Graham did come down with it in the end zone, the play came back on an offensive pass interference call against Graham.

49ers kicker Phil Dawson went on to kick the game-winning field goal in overtime.

The Saints have turned the ball over 18 times in nine games this season, but the team is still churning out 435.0 yards per game, the second best total in the league.

The Bengals suffered a disappointing home loss of their own last weekend. The team had begun the season 3-0 but have since been caught in a freefall, and likely hit rock bottom when they were embarrassed by the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night.

Now the team figures to again be without running back Giovani Bernard on Sunday as he continues to recover from a hip injury.

NFL Betting Trends

The Bengals figure to try to keep this game a low scoring one, and will use a ball control offense to keep Drew Brees and the Saints’ offense on the sidelines.

The Bengals are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games following a loss, while the Saints are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games in November.

The under is 13-3 in the Saints’ last 16 games played in Week 11, and it is 5-2 in the Bengals’ last seven games played in the month of November.
