NFL Football Picks: Handicapping Angles – Week 2 Free Parlay

Week 2 FREE NFL Parlay Picks

There is nothing better than starting a new season in the NFL with the correct call on a two-team parlay to boost the bankroll. I went with Cincinnati and Houston  in Week 1 and cashed-in, but it is time to go back to the drawing board to find another pair of winners for this week’s games based on the NFL betting odds.

Here are my top two picks for Week 2 in the NFL and these are two great games. New England vs. Minnesota & New York vs. Green Bay.

Keep checking in with Cappers Picks all season long for winning angles and free weekly NFL parlay picks from our sports handicapping experts.

Game 1 – New England Patriots vs. Minnesota Vikings

NFL Pointspread: New England -3
NFL Total Line: 49

A team does not post 11-straight double-digit winning seasons by accident and it also does not lose too many back-to-back games.

The Patriots certainly did not look like Super Bowl contenders in last Sunday’s 33-20 loss to Miami as 3.5-point road favorites, but you know that long-time head coach Bill Belichick will have his team ready to go this Sunday in Minnesota.

Look for Tom Brady to do a better job taking care of the ball after fumbling twice in Week 1 and look for a better overall effort from an offense that only managed 315 total yards against Miami.

The Vikings are flying high after hammering St. Louis 34-6 last week as 3.5-point road underdogs, but that score spoke more to the woeful condition of the Rams more so than the talent level of Minnesota.

The duo of Adrian Peterson and Cordarrelle Patterson combined for 177 yards on the ground, but you get the feeling that Matt Cassel is going to have to throw for more than 170 yards to keep pace with New England on the scoreboard.

4* NFL Parlay Pick:

Lay the points and take the Patriots as the balance of power in this matchup is quickly restored.

Game 2 – New York Jets vs. Green Bay Packers

NFL Pointspread: Green Bay -9.5
NFL Total Line: 45.5

This matchup is very similar to my first pick in that one team overachieved on opening day and one failed to play up to expectations.

The Jets did come away with a 14-9 victory over Oakland, but they could not cover as 6.5-point home favorites. Geno Smith did look sharp with 221 yards passing and one score while completing over 80 percent of his throws, but he did turn the ball over twice with an interception and a fumble.

New York is going to have to generate more than 19 points to keep this week’s game closer that the spread.

Green Bay found itself in a hornet’s nest last week in Seattle, which is already a tough enough place to play let alone on opening day.

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Back in the ultra-friendly confines of Lambeau Field, this Sunday’s game gives the Packers a great opportunity to regroup and do what they do best; score a lot of points and win games.

Green Bay is 18-6-1 straight-up in its last 25 home games and it will be in no mood to screw around with the Jets in this game.

4* NFL Parlay Pick:

With the spread sitting right below 10 points, that is another added incentive to lay the points and take the Packers to cover in the back-end of this parlay play.
