Cappers NFL Picks: Week 7 Pro Football Power Rankings

Where Each Team Stands Heading Into Week 7

Another crazy week of NFL action is in the books – the Seahawks lost and home to the Cowboys, the Chargers kept rolling, the Patriots continue their ascension up the Rankings and there was actually a tie between two teams whose kickers couldn’t get it together.

There is a new top dog this week with an unforeseen #2 because of all the happenings.

Let’s break down the NFL’s top dogs.

1. Broncos (4-1) Last Week: 2

It was a tossup for the #1 and #2 spot this week but I am going with the team that should be in this position. What can we say about Peyton Manning who should break Brett Favre’s touchdown record next week. He has his team at the top of the mountain but it may not last – San Fran, San Diego and New England are all on the schedule the next three weeks.

2. Cowboys (4-1) Last Week: 7

What???? The Cowboys at #2? Believe it – they did the near impossible on Sunday and absolutely manhandled the Seahawks in the Pacific Northwest for their fifth straight win. I’m still waiting for the collapse but right now there is no better all around team in the NFC. DeMarco Murray is the MVP thus far.

3. Chargers (5-1) Last Week: 3

Dominated the Seahawks in Week 2 and have not looked back, beat the Jets in Week 5 31-0 but barely squeaked one out against Oakland last week. Blame the injuries for allowing the Raiders to hang around.

4. Seahawks (3-2) Last Week: 1

I’m not ready to bump the Seahawks out of the top 4 just yet even though Philadelphia looms. Teams are going to bring their absolute best against the Champs and the Hawks are going to have the occasional clunker. Russell Wilson and the defense won’t be exposed in the same game again this year – no way!

5. Eagles (5-1) Last Week: 5

The Eagles followed up a rather unimpressive Week 5 win with an absolute beat down of the Giants in Week 6 in a game they got LeSean McCoy going – finally! Nick Foles looks back in control, the O-line is playing out of its mind and the defense has been a nice surprise to say the least! Phili may have lost Darren Sproles to injury which hurts indeed.

6. Cardinals (4-1) Last Week: 6

The Cards welcomed back Carson Palmer on Sunday and the team LEADS THE NFC WEST!!! Amazing. The team has used three different QBs so far and has played some predictably terrific defense along the way. Bruce Arians is my early pick for Coach of the Year.

7. 49ers (4-2) Last Week: 8

Had a bit of trouble with the Rams in Week 6 but got it done on both sides of the ball. Colin Kaepernick had his best game this season – a good sign for San Francisco going forward.

8. Colts (4-2) Last Week: 9

The Colts have won four straight – their losses were in close fashion to the Eagles and the Broncos. Andrew Luck continues to improve, the receiving corp. continues to look dangerous and the defense is holding its own. Indy looks like a contender in the AFC – right now especially.

9. Patriots (4-2) Last Week: 12

Have won their last two games by a combined 31 points. Tom Brady is back to his dominant form and Rob Gronkowski looks healthy again. The bad news is that Jerod Mayo could be lost on the defensive side of the ball and Steven Ridley was injured on the offensive side.

10. Packers (4-2) Last Week: 11

The Packers have reeled off three straight wins and have scored an average of nearly 36 points per game over that span. Aaron Rodgers has been terrific and he’s had to be – the running game and the defense have been nothing to write home about.

11. Ravens (4-2) Last Week: 10

The Ravens posted an easy victory in Week 6 but it was against the Bucs. But the Ravens are 4-2 and looking legit. on both sides of the ball. They slip this week only because of the impressive performances of the teams around them in the Rankings.

12. Bengals (3-1-1) Last Week: 4

Has anyone seen the Cincinnati defense? I certainly haven’t the last couple of weeks! This team has given up 80 points their last two games.

The Bengals offense, minus AJ Green still did its part and is the reason the Bengals still sit inside the dirty dozen this week.
