Cappers NFL Picks: Week 11 Pro Football Power Rankings

Where Each Team Stands Heading Into Week 11

Another crazy week of NFL action is in the books – the Cardinals, the Browns and the Lions continue to lead their respective divisions and some teams that many viewed as top dogs before the season started have started to flex their muscles.

There has been some movement at the top although the top 3 remain the same. But a shakeup below reflects just what an insane NFL world we live in!

So what does it all mean? Let’s break it down in the Week 11 edition of the NFL Power Rankings.

1. Patriots (7-2) Last Week: 2

I know, I know – how can a team move up the Rankings when they were on the bye? Well, consider the fact that they looked like the best team in the game before their bye and now they get a stretch run – healthy and motivated as ever. They have won five straight while scoring an average of 40 points per game over that span and they beat Denver by 22 – enough said!

2. Cardinals (8-1) Last Week: 1

The Cardinals still own the best record in football but fall one place because of the loss of Carson Palmer for the rest of the season. Drew Stanton has been good in relief but with two games against Seattle and one against San Francisco looming, my feeling is that this team stumbles a tad.

A Week 11 game against Detroit will tell us a lot.

3. Broncos (7-2) Last Week: 3

The Broncos destroyed Oakland on Sunday – no surprise there. If not for their ugly loss versus the Pats Denver would be #1 – hard to doubt Peyton Manning right now!

4. Packers (6-3) Last Week: 7

The Packers absolutely annihilated the Bears on Sunday night. After a slow start the Pack look like a legit threat in the NFC. Aaron Rodgers is on fire and the defense is doing its part as well. Look out for Green Bay – they are for real!

5. Lions (7-2) Last Week: 6

Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush returned to the lineup Sunday and the Lions posted the win against a HOT Miami team. This team is never, ever out of a game and with the top ranked defense and an explosive, never-say-die offense the Lions have arrived in the Top 5.

6. Eagles (7-2) Last Week: 4

You may ask – how does a team that looked so dominant Monday night drop two spots? Their opposition in that game is the answer. Carolina looks awful – the Eagles win Monday was as much about how horrible Carolina is as how good Phili. looked.

That said Mark Sanchez did look good and shouldn’t be much of a step down for the Eagles.

7. Colts (6-3) Last Week: 5

The Colts have now won six of their last seven games but drop in the Rankings mostly because the teams directly behind them in the Rankings were so impressive this past week. They are back from their bye in Week 11 looking to reclaim a top 5 spot. A date with New England this week looms however!

8. Seahawks (6-3) Last Week: 8

The Seahawks got back to what has made them successful – playing good defense and running the ball to the tune of 335 yards Sunday! Sure they beat a banged up lowly Giants team but there is no doubt that this team is emulating the one that won it all last year. Look out NFC – the Hawks may be back!

9. Cowboys (6-3) Last Week: 14

What a difference Tony Romo makes – DeMarco Murray was better and Dez Bryant was his typically dominant self. A bye couldn’t come at a better time for this team – they should be healthy and ready to terrorize once again in Week 12! They ended a two game losing streak Sunday and get back their rightful spot in the top 10.

10. Chiefs (6-3) Last Week: 9

The Chiefs have won six of their last seven games – four straight after Sunday’s win. The Chiefs aren’t terrific on either side of the ball – they are just sound and don’t make any game-changing mistakes. Oh ya – they have some guy named Jamaal Charles as well.

11. Browns (6-3) Last Week: 17

OK – I just can’t keep the Browns out of the Dirty Dozen anymore. They lead the AFC North – one of the toughest divisions in football and they are coming off an uber-impressive win over the Bengals on Thursday night. Good defense, an OK running back committee and the impending return of Josh Gordon has this team looking good down the stretch.

12. Ravens (6-4) Last Week: 15

Weren’t terrific in Week 10 but they got the win. Now they face a tough stretch in which they battle New Orleans on the road, Miami and the Chargers – without their top defensive player Jimmy Smith who was placed on IR this week. I like the Ravens – just don’t love them!

16. 49ers (5-4) Last Week: 19
17. Bengals (5-3-1) Last Week: 12
18. Saints (4-5) Last Week: 13
19. Bills (5-4) Last Week: 18
20. Vikings (4-5) Last Week: 20
21. Rams (3-6) Last Week: 24
22. Texans (4-5) Last Week: 23
