Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns Preview

Cleveland actually got of to a good start in their last game and played well on offense, but eventually lost by 2 TD and gave up 41 points in a road loss to the Giants. NFL lines have the Bengals as slight 2-point away favorites with a total of 43.5.

The Bengals have beaten the Browns in 13 of their last 16 games facing them.

In Week 2 this season at home the Bengals beat the Browns 34-27.

In their last games the Browns lost to the New York Giants 41-27 and the Bengals lost to the Miami Dolphins 17-13.

On the season the Bengals are 2-2-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 3-2 and the Browns are also 2-2-1 ATS with an Over/Under record of 2-3.

Andy Dalton did not have a good game against Miami and he overthrew his receivers a few times. He has a good WR corps led by A.J. Green (36 rec 493 yards 4 TD) and Andrew Hawkins (20 rec 294 yards 2 TD) and the Browns’ pass defense that only ranks 27th in the league. However, solid CB Joe Haden returns the Cleveland secondary after serving a 4-game suspension. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

BenJarvus Green-Ellis really struggled in the Miami game and for the season he has yet to rush for over 100 yards and is only averaging 3.3 yards per carry. He rushed for 75 yards in the Bengals first win over the Browns and in Cleveland’s loss to New York last week they allowed Ahmad Bradshaw to rush for 200 yards.

Brandon Weeden has had an up and down rookie season and against he Giants he nearly passed for 300 yards. In the earlier match up with the Bengals he had a good game passing for 2 TD and 0 INT. He does not have a good WR corps, as Josh Gordon is his leading WR and he only has 9 catches. The Bengals’ pass defense ranks 16th in the league. The Browns may be without WR’s Mohamed Massaquoi and Travis Benjamin because of injuries.

Trent Richardson has also been up and down this season and he was pretty good in New York out of the backfield running the ball and he also had 5 catches for 47 yards. His only 100+ rushing game of the season came against Cincinnati.

Jason’s Pick: I think this game will be like the first one, as it will be close, but the Bengals are simply a better team on both sides of the ball and they will win and cover.
