2015 Bears Preview & NFL Football Future Lines & Pick

2015 Chicago Bears Season Predictions

Another year looms for the Chicago Bears and so does the question – will Jay Cutler finally play up to his contract? I mean c’mon. Cutler was brutal last year – he was responsible for 24 turnovers. Cutler will be guiding a Chicago ship that on paper had a ton of holes to fill in the offseason but inexplicably were ignored.

A new Head Coach John Fox and a new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, in theory, should be able to get this team back to respectability. But fears are that the current cast of characters the coaches are forced to deal with will make that goal nearly impossible.

Are the Bears headed for disaster? Or will they somehow exceed expectation in the tough NFC North? Let’s take a look.

Does anyone have any faith that Jay Cutler can turn it around, start showing that he cares and that he guide this team? Me neither. I can’t remember a quarterback regressing as quickly as Cutler has. Cutler is being paid like a top tier quarterback and can be counted on for third tier numbers – like Alex Smith, Derek Carr or Matt Cassell.

Another big problem is that Cutler lost his safety net during the offseason – Brandon Marshall is no longer there – is cause for concern. Or maybe not – Cutler will have the terrific Alshon Jeffery and No. 7 overall pick Kevin White to throw to. Martellus Bennett and Eddie Royal are also there as legitimate weapons.

The running game will be anchored by Matt Forte once again – he could see a reduction in work in the new offense but can be counted on for a solid season.

But all of that won’t mean a thing if the brutal offensive line doesn’t get their act together. Chicago has consistently had one of the worst offensive lines in the game and didn’t do a whole lot to improve themselves this past offseason. It’s a concern for sure – Chicago fans – Jay Cutler may be running for his life again!

Now for the defense – this is a unit that gave up a staggering 27.6 points last year – 27.6! Good for 31st in the league! They changed their defense around this year to better suit the player on their roster.

They also brought in the architect of the great San Francisco defenses – Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator so they have to be better.

Bears 2015 Prediction:

Things could and probably will get ugly quickly in Chicago – their first three games coma against the Packers, the Cardinals and the Seahawks – yikes. The NFC North is a very competitive division – the Vikings, the Lions and the Packers all look like better teams to me.

John Fox and Fangio will do some good things in Chicago but it may take some time. Most, including myself are predicting a disastrous season for Chicago. We all know what happens when things start going south in the Windy City – they seem to find a new definition for South.

Jay Cutler isn’t the man to lead this team – period. The Bears are a 4-12 team maybe 5-11.
