New Orleans Saints Betting Odds – NFL Football Futures

The New Orleans Saints enter the 2011-2012 season with plenty of motivation. Not only did they lose to Seattle in the first round of the playoffs last season but they also have a couple of NFC South teams right on their heels.

**Ready To Bet On NFL Season Win Total Odds? We will have them posted soon!

A look at the numbers:

Last season – 11-5 SU, 6-10 ATS
Projection this season – 12-4 (1st in NFC South)
Saints Super Bowl XLVI Odds: +1200
Saints 2011/12 NFC Odds – +350
2011 Saints NFC South Lines – +120

Will the Saints return to their elite form or will they bow to one of the younger, uber-hyped teams within their own division?

The Saints will look somewhat different on offense when the season opens. Gone are Reggie Bush and Jeremy Shockey, in is draft pick Mark Ingram and Darren Sproles and back from injury is Pierre Thomas who hopes to be completely healed from injury that shortened his 2010-2011 season.

The main cog in the offense Drew Brees will be looking to improve on a season in which he passed for the second highest yardage total of his career but also threw an uncharacteristic amount of interceptions. Hopes are that a shored up Running Back situation will take some of the pressure off of Brees and the passing game – the run was a huge part of their Super Bowl winning season.

Another huge question mark is the health of the receiving corp., all of whom has surgery and will enter camp less than 100% healed.

All told, the Saints will field an elite offense once again. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Pierre Thomas is a difference maker, Mark Ingram figures to become a huge cog in what the Saints hope to accomplish in 2011-2012 and newly signed Darren Sproles is a very exciting fit for this team. With Drew Brees at the helm, the receiving issues should not be much of an issue at all. Marques Colston, Lance Moore and Robert Meachem are all big time talents.

Tight End Jimmy Graham exploded on the scene last season and appears to be an enormous upgrade over Jeremy Shockey. The Saints will be fine offensively – look for them to return to a Top 5 overall.

Defensively, the Saints will still have one of the most brilliant Coordinators running the show. Greg Williams will have a couple new toys to play with – Shaun Rogers and draftee Cameron Jordan should provide a pass rush that the Saints have not had in the past.

The Saints boast one of the better secondaries in the game making this team as balanced as there is in the NFL.

New Orleans Saints NFC South Prediction:

The 2010-2011 season was deemed a disappointment for the Saints despite a 11-5 record. They have improved in every aspect of the game and appear poised to become a terror again.

I love the Saints to emerge as NFC South Champions once again this season and with a stacked lineup on both sides of the ball, it would not be surprising to see them hoisting the Lombardi trophy for the second time in three season.

12-4 wins the NFC South this season and a long playoff run could follow.
