The blue turf of Boise State is one of college football’s toughest places to play on the road, and a 3-3 Nevada squad will have its hands full.

With an even tougher schedule on the horizon, the Wolf Pack need to win this game if they want a chance at a bowl game.

They have had a few weeks to get ready for the Broncos, and will no doubt look to tighten things up defensively following a 51-44 loss to San Diego State last time out.

Quarterback Cody Fajardo manhandled the Aztecs’ defense, throwing for 387 yards, while the  offense racked up almost 600 total yards. Kendall Brock chipped in, with 112 yards rushing and three trips to the end zone.

But as good as the offense was, it wasn’t good enough, as the defense could not stop the Aztecs attack, giving up 541 yards. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

That’s not good, especially facing a team like Boise State, which is ranked No. 18 in the nation on offense, fueled by a passing attack that is averaging nearly 300 yards per game.

Quarterback Joe Southwick continued to roll as he has all season, leading the the way last time out for the Broncos, connecting for 335 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 34-23 victory over the Utah State Aggies at Romney Stadium.

The Broncos took advantage of no Chuckie Keaton, rolling up 447 yards with Jay Ajayi running for 109 yards on 22 carries with a touchdown.

Meanwhile, the defense held the Aggies attack in check allowing only 17 points, with the Aggies only score coming via a pick six.

Matt’s Free Prediction

The Broncos may not be as good as they have been in the recent years, but they should have no problem dealing with a Nevada team that ranks No. 117 defensibly, giving up 38 points per game.

Nevertheless, I expect the Wolf Pack to hang around until the final quarter, before the Broncos pull away for a two-score win.

Boise State 45, Nevada  31
