TCU looks to continue its undefeated season Saturday, when they host the Colorado State Rams in a Mountain West showdown.

For the Horned Frogs, it’s another hot start, as this is the third time in five years that they enter the middle of October with one loss or less.

TCU is led offensively by junior quarterback Andy Dalton who has thrown for six touchdowns and just three interceptions on the young season. The Horned Frogs bread-and-butter is the ground game however, as running backs Joseph Turner and Ed Wesley for 600 yards and five touchdowns.

But as well as the offense has played, the TCU defense is what they will always hang their hat on. On the season, the Horned Frogs are giving up just 249 yards a game, which is ranked seventh in college football. Their run defense in particular is outstanding, giving up just 83 yards per game.

As far as Colorado State is concerned, a once promising season has quickly turned sour with three straight losses. Last week’s against Utah was especially excruciating as they led 17-3, before giving up three touchdowns in the final 20 minutes of the game.

The Rams offense is led by Grant Stucker, a gun-slinging quarterback who’s already thrown for 1400 yards this year. However, despite passing for 11 touchdowns, he has already tossed nine interceptions as well, including three in last week’s loss. Running back Leonard Mason hit the 100 carry plateau against Utah.

Defensively, Colorado State has struggled quite a bit this season, as they’ve given up close to 26 points and 370 yards per game. However, keep in mind that the defense has faced BYU, Utah and Nevada, three of the 21 offenses in college football. Idaho, who the Rams played two weeks ago, is ranked 31st.

While TCU makes its march toward an undefeated regular season they’ll have to get through potholes like the one they’ll face Saturday against Colorado State. With BYU on the schedule next weekend, don’t be surprised if the Horned Frogs are looking ahead.

And don’t be fooled by the 3-3 record for Colorado State, the quality of competition they’ve played has been phenomenal. They’ll be ready Saturday.

Pick: Colorado State +22
