The other teams in the top 6 moved up a spot, with the exception of Alabama who is firmly planted at No. 1. Texas A&M moved into the top 10 at No. 10, with LSU falling back to No. 18.

Let’s take a look at the top 10 teams and their chances of moving up, or down on Sunday when the next set of rankings is released.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide (9-0, previous: 1)

Alabama came out on top in the second biggest game on their schedule. The Tide have actually had some trouble with the LSU Tigers in recent years, but they came away with a comfortable 38-17 win. On Saturday they’ll travel to Starkville to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs as 25-point favorites.

2. Florida State Seminoles (9-0, previous: 3)

Florida State went into Winston-Salem and didn’t mess around, throttling Wake Forest, 59-3. It seems safe to say now that their struggles with ACC opponents are behind them. That’s good, because they’ll get another one on Saturday, hosting Syracuse as 39-point favorites.

3. Ohio State Buckeyes (9-0, previous: 4)

Ohio State has been off since Nov. 2 when they obliterated Purdue, 56-0. On Saturday they’ll face a tougher test when they travel to Illinois to take on the Illini as 33-point favorites, but Illinois hasn’t been able to beat a Big Ten opponent in five tries this season.

4. Baylor Bears (8-0, previous: 5)

Baylor would surely love to continue basking in the glory of their dominant victory over Oklahoma under the lights on Thursday night, but they’ll get thrown right back into the fire with another Big 12 opponents, taking on a good Texas Tech team as 27-point favorites.

5. Stanford Cardinal (8-1, previous: 6)

Stanford won the biggest game on their schedule on Thursday when they knocked off the Oregon Ducks in fine fashion. The team allowed the Ducks to claw back late to make the final score more respectable, but the outcome was never really in doubt. On Saturday the Cardinal will travel to take on the USC Trojans in front of what should be a motivated home crowd with College GameDay in town.

6. Oregon Ducks (8-1, previous: 2)

Oregon suffered their first loss of the season last weekend when they fell to Stanford, the toughest opponent on their schedule. The team will surely look to take some of their frustrations out on a Utah team that comes to Eugene having lost three in a row.

7. Auburn Tigers (9-1, previous: 8)

Auburn continues to prove that they are the real deal, beating up on Tennessee in a tough road contest last weekend. The next obstacle in their path is a Georgia Bulldogs team that has been a major disappointment this season and will be looking to scrape out a positive note to end off the season. Auburn is a four-point home favorite in the game.

8. Clemson Tigers (8-1, previous: 8)

Clemson was off on the weekend and will get thrust back into the national spotlight in primetime on Thursday night when they take on the always tough Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Clemson is installed as a 10-point favorite for the game.

9. Missouri Tigers (9-1, previous: 9)

Missouri continues to prove their doubters wrong, beating up on Kentucky in Lexington on Saturday, 48-17. The Tigers are off this weekend before a date with Ole Miss on Nov. 23.

10. Texas A&M Aggies (8-2, previous: 11)

A thrilling win for the Aggies on Saturday, outlasting Mississippi State in a 51-41 win. The Aggies celebrated as if their season was over, as the game may have been Johnny Manziel’s last at Kyle Field. The team needs to keep focused though, with dates against LSU and Missouri waiting for them on the other side of their bye.
