With half of their schedule behind them, the Huskies have a 4-2 record, but are just 1-2 in Pac-12 play, with another tough Pac-12 game in front of them. The team is in danger of losing three games in a row for the fifth consecutive season.

Washington actually did a better job of hanging around with Oregon than the 45-24 final score indicates, as they trailed by just a single score heading into the fourth quarter. The Washington offense was led by running back Bishop Sankey, who racked up 167 yards and a pair of scores on the ground, but he also had a critical fumble early on with the score tied 7-7. Both of Sankey’s scores came in the third quarter, helping the Huskies to stay competitive at that point in the game. Quarterback Keith Price completed 19 of 32 passes in the game for 182 yards and a score. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Washington defense understandably had trouble slowing Marcus Mariota, who completed 24 of 31 passes for 366 yards and three scores while adding 88 yards and an additional score on the ground. In total, the Ducks accumulated 633 yards of offense.

The Sun Devil offense is led by quarterback Taylor Kelly, who ranks seventh in the nation in total offense, racking up 355 yards per game. His top target is receiver Jaelen Strong, who has put up 113.0 yards per game and four touchdowns through the team’s first six contests. Running back Marion Grice has found the endzone 10 times on the ground, and a nation-leading 15 times total in those six games. In the team’s 54-13 win over Colorado last weekend, Grace scored twice on the ground, while Kelly threw for 233 yards and a pair of scores, running for another. Kelly’s first touchdown connection came on a 69-yard strike to Strong. The team’s offense didn’t take long to get going, as they put up 47 points and 392 yards in the first half.

Defensively, the Sun Devils forced the Buffaloes into four turnovers, including three interceptions, limiting them to six points and 94 yards in the first half and 13 points in the game.

The Huskies’ 4-0 start to the season must feel like a long time ago to a Washington team that is reeling. They are 0-7 ATS in their last seven games against Arizona State, so don’t be surprised if their struggles continue for a while longer. Washington hasn’t won in Tempe since 2001.

The Sun Devils are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games.

The play: Arizona State -3
