Utah State vs Fresno State MWC Title Game Betting
The Fresno State Bulldogs may not be playing for a BCS bowl bid at this point in the season, but their year has been far from a waste, as they have a chance to complete a one-loss campaign with a win this weekend. Fresno State is set to take on the Utah State Aggies.

The Aggies are riding a five-game winning streak and have found a nice balance on both offense and defense this season.

The game won’t be easy for either side, which is why the Bulldogs are favored by just three points entering the contest.
Utah State
Utah State may not have the toughest schedule in the nation, but it has a number of quality teams that it has gone through to get to this point. Most notably is the San Jose State Spartans—the same team that just took down Fresno State last weekend.
On the year, the Aggies are scoring a solid 33.9 points per contest. They’re 38th in that particular category, and they’re 55th in passing and 41st in rushing as well. But while the offense has done a decent job of remaining relevant, it’s the defense that has helped this team make a name for itself.
The team is allowing just 16.8 points per outing, which is seventh in the entire FBS.

On the defensive side of the ball, Utah State must watch out for Derrick Carr and the Bulldogs’ potent passing attack. In last week’s loss, Carr had 419 yards throwing and six touchdowns.
Containing the man behind center is priority No. 1, and if the team can do just that, it will have a huge shot at coming away with the upset.
Fresno State
As good as Carr has been on the year—he has his team as the No. 1 passing team in the country—he has a strong defense to go up against this weekend. The Utah State Aggies rank 11th in total yards allowed, and while the majority of that is due to their run defense, they’re also 23rd in defending the pass.
Conversely, Fresno State must also watch out for Aggies quarterback Darrell Garretson. The freshman was slid into the lineup earlier this season because of injuries, and he has eight touchdowns to just two interceptions, averaging better than 200 yards per outing.
Fresno State has never played Utah State when both are members of the Mountain West Conference, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a history. The Bulldogs have won eight of the last nine against the Aggies—including the last five in a row—and history is clearly on their side.
Expect this one to be close throughout, but don’t be shocked if Fresno State pulls ahead when it counts.
