Meanwhile, Arkansas, who after a 3-0 start under new head coach Bret Bielema, have lost their last three games straight.

Although Clowney’s status is still uncertain, it is expected by many that he will get the nod, as Carolina looks to continue its rebound from a Week 2 loss to Georgia, as they try to make it four wins in a row.

The Gamecocks offense has been rolling behind quarterback Connor Shaw, who completed 17-of-20 pass attempts for 262 yards for the Gamecocks in a 35-28 winner at home against Kentucky last week. He did not throw an interception in the game and turned in a Heisman-esque rushing performance that included 282 yards and a touchdown. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Offensively, South Carolina has been averaging 31 points and 476 yards per game, not something that the Razorbacks are geared well for, currently allowing 24 points and 340 yards per game on the year. They do however, have four interceptions, 17 sacks and three fumble recoveries.

Still, the Razorbacks got hammered in its last outing, as Florida rolled past them, 30-10 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

The Hogs ‘ offense is averaging 26 points and 391 yards per game, mainly on the efforts of running back Alex Collins who is averaging nearly six yards per carry with three touchdowns. Collins rushed for 54 yards in Arkansas’ loss to Florida.

Now the Razorbacks will face a stingy South Carolina defense that is only allowing 26 points and 365 yards per game with four interceptions, three fumble recoveries and a whopping14 sacks.

Matt’s Prediction

Neither of these defenses have established enough clout to be able to shut down any offense, and I look for there to be plenty of scoring as this one ends up being a bit of a shootout.

While Arkansas is still in a rebuilding process, the Gamecocks seem capable of being able to compete with the better teams in the SEC, so beating the Hogs doesn’t seem to be a stretch.

South Carolina 35, Arkansas 28
