This one could be pretty ugly for Boston College. Florida State is looking great and with their new quarterback they suddenly have a super potent offense to go with an always formidable defense. Their numbers may be skewed by some weak competition so far but the Seminoles are clearly one of the top teams in America.

Not so much at Boston College whose two wins are against Wake Forest and Villanova. BC may be physical but their one supposed strength, passing the football, is very tough to do against FSU. Last year they lost by a score of 51-7.

This one won’t be much closer.
Florida State
The Seminoles are playing great ths year and new QB Jameis Winston is as good as advertised. I know he is probably not as fast as Johnny Manziel in terms of running the ball but he is already a better thrower than Manziel – he has an absolute cannon of an arm which is no suprise because he also plays baseball.
With him at the helm Florida State’s offense looks like it is going to give their defense a chance to develop leading up to the big clash they will have against Clemson next month. They have only given up 26 points through three games which is a pretty good start but the calibre of competition is going to only get better as the leaves begin changing colors.
It might be a nice scene in Chestnut Hill in the fall but it won’t be the scene of an upset. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Boston College
The Eagles are slowly but surely trying to rise back up in the ACC. New coach Steve Addazio knows all about Florida State from his days with the Gators but he had a lot more talent on his side back in those days.
Then he had a guy named Tim Tebow but this time he is going to be relying on senior QB Chase Rettig. Rettig has been unsung throughout his career at BC and he will be trying to have success against the nation’s best pass defense. So far this season he has not been very good and the Eagles have struggled on offense as a result.
Last year against the Noles he passed for just 122 yards though RB Andre Williams did rush past the century mark, a surprising feat. Maybe this year will want to pound away will Williams again. He packs a punch so it might send a statement which seems like Addazio’ style.
